Have not made any complain to mcys yet. Checked with other franchaise branches, told me they cannot ask us to withdrawn our child. So I take a further step to check with the HQ, they will check and get back to me.happydaddy:
[quote=\"superdaddy000\"]Hi, anyone knows if a school can ask you to withdrawn w/o a valid or reasonable reason?

So far..i asked my son (playgroup) wat he lerant in school?..he will say painting,,,,everyday painting different things,,make playdoh...recently sing alot of songs at home too...Actually I am not sure how is the standard from the skool. My DD is unable to say it to me. I realised that whenever I asked her what has she learnt in sch, she will tell me she doesn't know. Of coz I feel scare and shock when I heard that.. then I went to ask the teacher how was her performance in sch. They said that she is learning well. I just asked the teacher yest is she able to speak chinese in sch. Did she improve? She is able to recognise some words. So I guess maybe its just not simple for my DD to explain to me or convey the message to me bah.
For zoo-phonics, me also interested in it and i have been putting on hold due to the high fees. I doubt they will clash in terms of teaching methods. Phonics are straight forward, unlike math.
For the enrichment programs provided by the external, you might want to let ur kid to try. I gave my DD to try the Science Alive and she is not keen. But she did learn from the lessons. I was surprised when she asked to take a look of her when she rub the ballon on her hair and told me her hair will stand up. She definitely learnt something there but also depends on her interest. I withdrew her from the Science and let her try the English ESI. She is very interested in the Chinese Apple Pie.
So, there is no fix answer whether its good anot. For me, FTWM, and a DS only 16mths, not much free time for her. So have to depend quite alot in skool.
Wat is English ESI?....do they have speech and drama course?...by the way,,,which group is ur dd in?..nursery?..how u find their phonics? -
happymom08:
Yes, playgrp mostly painting and hands-on art and craft. My DD is in nursey. Going to K1 next yr. I dont think her phonics is good at the moment. They dont focus much on phonics? I am not too sure.

i heard from a friend she said,,now entry to Pri 1 ,,,need to know how to read at least 300 words,,or else will be sent for slow learning course,,,,hmmm,,,,so stressful now fgor the kids,,,
wat do they do in ESI thing?..heheh....
can ur dd read and write,,,during nursery stage?.. -
hi happymom, my DD in nursery, initially i doubt my DD can read, but during their literacy (usually, after bathing time) , they were taught to read. and my DD teacher demonstrated that to me, by pointing words and ask my DD to read and she can. so dun worry, reading is taught too. but of course u can step up the speed of reading at home. i use peter and jane series

..so far did u enrol ur dd in any of their enrichment courses?...
do u tink their curriculum enough to prepare our kids for pri 1?...hehe,,, -
Happymom08
u can try to introduce the activity every other day, today he dun like, u try again tomorrow, children get bored easily, so they will find it \"interesting\" if it's not done everyday.. but some kids dun mind, so every child is different
yes, drama & speech for IQkids & apple pie. MFS curriculum confirm is enough for P1 cos they follow MOE curriculum for kindergarten. but whether our child is good at all the things being taught is another story lor.. -
