The only problem is we do not know the standard deviation. We only have the highest, lowest and mean score.

Ask your teacher (if they compute). If not, do an estimate. So far from my own experience, standard deviation range from 10 - 15 for each subject. Hope this helps.

        Hi pixiedust

I also heard that if the child unable to meet the requirement in the school only offer 'Express stream\", they also have to transfer out as their school don't cater for \"Normal stream\".

As such, we have to take in all these factors as consideration when choosing Secondary school.

Normally no transfer, but sadly ask to retain.

If the school doesn't offer Normal stream, the student will be asked to leave the school. If however the school has a vacancy in the level below, they may offer to retain him.

The Secondary 4 year is quite interesting too. Having heard the message that the Chinese language is so terribly important because of the 'rise' of China etc, parents realise that the L1 component of L1R5 requires a high level of English if their children are to get into that 'dream' junior college or polytechnic course.

Sorry pardon me, I know L1R5 means language 1, what about R5 stand for ?

Brenda, the argaration formula can serve as a wake-up call, and can be quite scary .

              Hi mummies

Supplementary class kick off tomorrow and new time table has shown the CCA is replaced by other lesson.
Same for my DS. The usual CCA time also replaced by another lesson.

There's still CCA? I would've though most would've stepped down already.
