Myanmar maids

No worries! I have been through pretty much wat you are experiencing. I took the cc way. I know being the only grandchild, they are going to spoil her. Maybe u need to let ur mom know that the maid is only 16 and there is no way a child can look after another child. If it really doesn't work out, then cc might be the only option. Better be safe than sorry. I am also paranoid over maid looking after my DD. I don't allow my DD to interact too much with the maid as my DD will throw tantrum (only child problem) to her. Children are smart and they know who they can bully. One of them is the maid.
Yes...in actual fact..from start i do wanna go the cc way..but my dad is faster than me in the sense tat b4 i announce any decision on care-taking..my dad say let them take care of my bb..so I in a way LL...i spoil my parents also so dun want to upset them..so juz let them take care..but after i give birth..i regretted it immediately.. Yes..i am paranoid too..and when i am home with DD..i do not allow them to interact much..give instructions to do hsework..DD i take care myself..but when i call my mum for past two days..my mum is trying to get DD used to maid..but DD refused..juz stick to my mum (hopefully stay this way) and Yes..children are real smart..my dd already start bullying my maid on 1st day..i change her diaper..ask her to throw (usu she will walk to dustbin and throw) instead..she pass to maid.. i am speechless! :yikes: -

today my parents gave me a shock...i left my 3-day old maid with my parents as i need to go for a biz trip... my parents this morning ask her how old she is...she say she 24 to my mum...say 25 to my dad...my dad test her further ask her wat year she born...she say 1995 (which is 16 years old!) my mum say no wonder! she dun look 24/25..look less than 20 years old! OMG..is she that young? her passport / wp / agent all say she born in 1985...
Nothing new! The indons and mynmar agents are responsible for this, their ages are normally inflated. The maids are taught to say they are 23 or they will be reported to the police. MOM requires the maid to be 23 b4 they can enter sg thats why. My first mynmar was 38 but she looked young and her passport states 29. The 2nd tol me she is 21 but her passport states 25, my third mynmar is only 19.
Only the filipinas ages are quite correct but not their height especially if they are short.
I suggest you call yr agent and c what he says. He will probably tell you that they rely on info given by the agent in mynmar and they dnt get to c the girl. :nailbite:
Actually we are employing children to look after children and paying high salary for them to  MOM knows their ages are incorrect but still issue w/p. -

Yes lo..haiz...i ask agent before when i am gg thru the bios..coz some of the photos really look super young..but bios state they 27/28...agent already say they juz rely on what was given by the agent from myanmar...

So for ur 3rd maid who is juz 19...is everyting ok? u still keep her after u know she's juz 19? -
I thinks young maids are only good for house work and not taking care of very young children. I think you should have a really good talk with ur mom when you get home to settle this issue. If not cannot concentrate to work. Haiz I know that feeling.

I told mine that too but she still walks with her nose held high up. Pride is the result of her refusing to learn and learning nothing!
I make my maid repeat the correct word over and over again until she get it right. Lucky my maid did not insisted that was what its called in her language. If not I will tell her this is Singapore not myanmar. So you don't speak your own language.fifiyeo:
My maid used to call my 6yr old boy \"Mess\" and he was so upset. His name is Max but we sometimes call him Maxi. My boy tried so hard to teach her for over a year and still it was \"Mess\" or \"Messy\"! :slapshead:
I was called \"Mehh\" sounds like a horse!
Whenever I corrected her, she either ignored me or insisted that was what its called in her language. :stupid: -
Fifiyeo- what happen next? You sent her home?
-
No, I tried not to send her packing 'cos her passport was less than 2 years (22 months) when I took her in. I knew she would have a hard time finding another employer even though agent suggested that I get a replacement as they couldn't talk sense into her thick skull after I complained.
So as she ignored me, I had to ignored her too. She refused to learn English and therefore I couldn't take her out with us. If she wanted to go shopping, I had to take her and babysit her while the kids were in school. She damaged a lot of things but never felt that she was wrong. Sometimes even answering back. Whenever I opened my mouth to give instructions, she would open hers at the same time trying to shut me off.
Then about 1 year 5 months into the job, 2 weeks after I took her for medical check-up, she demanded that I make immediate arrangements for her to return home. Agent asked her to stay until a new maid comes in and she simply refused. Reason - She was intending to pay for her own ticket home so why can't she leave whenever she wanted to!! :stupid:
So I was suddenly without a maid. School was going to re-open in 5 days and my younger boy was starting P1. I had to push back getting a new maid and after awhile I got use to the housework with the help of robot vacuums etc. and so I am now maidless and happy! :please:
Guess what, when I brought her to the agent for her \"goodbye\" trip....her eyes suddenly turned red when I was going off. She said that we had treated her well and she was wrong! :slapshead: Really don't understand her but if sure didn't pay to be nice. I can't imagine having to tolerate another maid again. -
Oh! I didn’t know there is so much problems with Burmese maids. How did you manage without maid? Did you hire part time ones? Have been thinking about it quite often especially now with govt intending to give compulsory off days to maid. If the off days kick in, then I think I might not employ one. Maids without off days alrdy giving so much problem.

Well Yahyan, Im still keeping her for now, in comparison to the last two I had she started off very well but communication is a big problem whn trying to get into detailed stuff. Emphasis in my home is to help my mum and housekeeping. She started off fast, clean and hardworking but is now slackening in her work. Just got to check her work occasionally. Age is a factor when it comes to understanding certain things. She just cant comprehend.... my dd is 11 and does not bother her but my mum finds her too young to take care of her and land up doing her kitchen work. Shes rather short and is not 5 ft as stated in the biodata, she is 2 inches shorter. Hah, most ppl think shes my daughter and I frequently get neighbours n friends askin me how old she is....kind of hard to answer cos she look younger than 18.,,,dont really feel comfortable when she goes out with us. Anyway shes 2 months today and Im still holding on for now cos Im tired and stressed out training mynmars all over again. Really, they lack all the Q\"s ie. EQ, IQ
Well MOM gave her the W/P so that means they approve of her fraudulent age of 24/25. Shes been to W/P office to get her thumb print and have seen her yet they dont question her age. Being young is one thing but young n coming frm Mynmar makes a whole lot of difference as they are not exposed n dont even know what a house look like until they are here unlike the young indons.
MOM sure know how to state strict requirements for employers but yet allow these young kids to come in without experience to sweep high salaries without any knowledge of english.

Totally agree with you..she started off clean tho abit slow..but she is quite detailed in doing her work...my mum quite like her..so i guess i will monitor and see how...if she slack or give me prob..i will tell her that she's only 16 and against the law to come here...hahahaWell Yahyan, Im still keeping her for now, in comparison to the last two I had she started off very well but communication is a big problem whn trying to get into detailed stuff. i also told my mum not to let my DD get too close to her...somehow i juz cant forget the ID maid who throw the kid down...my mum say i am over paranoid..but i juz say if i can trust an outsider then i wun hire a maid..i will juz send my dd to the cc instead... :rotflmao:
