All the best
Doesn't SMOPS Platinum stand a very high chance in getting CO for DSA, despite 79.x in SA1?
Yes, to my understanding, RI does not take those SMOPS, AMOPS seriously. There are too many students have awarded with these. However, if you are the the top 50 for RIPMWC then it may carries some weight. You might not agree with me...
But agian, if a student scored 82% for SA1 and another student scored 77% with SMOPS Platinum. Do you think which student will RI accept? No prize for the correct answer. -

What is considered very good in your opinion?[/quote]hey, it's only bc different schools have different criteria, so I've not thot about it. RI uses 4.0 max GPA, but other schools use 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, so when a parent just randomly gives a 3.8 GPA as very good, it may not make sense to all, KWIM?
Above 3.8 is considered very good? Only in RI, I suppose.phankao:

Haha! Parents'expectations no choice for them. Want to get scholarships or enter the top courses locally like medicine, dentistry and law. Those with gpa 3.8 and above really good, the rest are just pure hardwork. -
My ds classmates also have not been called up for interview yet, whether they took GAT or not. There must be many many applicants.

Dear all,
After my last posting, we went ahead to apply to SCGS via Violin for my DD with testimonial from the CCA teacher-in-charge.
Just received email for my DD to participate in their GAT on this Saturday.
Will see how far my DD will progress from here. -

now she have to practise and get ready for audition if being selected.
BTW, any preparation she needs for the GAT test?
Thanks! -

No need to prepare for GAT lah. But she will still be shortlisted from it, is it?now she have to practise and get ready for audition if being selected.

Audition should be ok, right? Just perform one of the pieces that she is currently working on. Or does she need to perform more than 1 piece? -
No idea but reckon she cannot do too badly for the GAT.
No information on audition yet. Email will only be sent out later, after the GAT
