All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Hi Parents,


I've just received confirmation from Paya Lebar MGS that I've been accepted as PV. Was so looking forward to being accepted and now that I am, I feel worried.

Being a working mother, I anticipate a lot of annual leaves needed to be taken in order for me to fulfill the 40 hours.. So, was just wondering if anyone has any idea what should I be expecting (meaning assignments or tasks given by the school)?

I have also received confirmation to do PV in the school. My child will enter P1 in 2013. I am also a working mother and glad to know there is another kiasuparent here in the same situation as me;) Wondering what is to be expected.. Are you also staying within 2km from the school?

i wana ask about nanyang primary school PV, what CV must parent furnish them with? It is like looking for a job why must furish CV?

Just like your resume... r u staying within 1km? If u r outside 2km then maybe u can think of other school for PV...
Send in last year for my DD2 born in 2007 :lol:

NYPS had balloting for those living outside 2km in 2B last year. If the trend continues, you will then be facing ballot situation come 2013 registration. So your chance of getting into the school is actually very slim, unless you are prepared to move to within 1km? And are you prepared to have 80 hours of your time going down the drain?

Where are your 2 older children studying? Why not consider putting your 3rd child there as well? If your 3rd child is in NYPS, then you will have logistic nightmare of sending and fetching 2 different locations.

NYPS requires 80 hrs of service from their PV. I think their deadline and selection process is a lot earlier than other schools.

Depends on school. Best to call up the school you intend to PV for and check.

Yes Had send in for my DD2 last Dec 2010 and receive acknowledgement in March 2011... Just try only...
