I do not think they foresee this reduction, which is likely to be due to the school upgrading and getting ready for single session. They only accepted the PVs last Sep. Sigh!

the school should be informed at least 2yrs back.... they have more than enough to make the adjustment for the PV intake since it was only last Sep....

There was no major change in the no of PVs as compared to last year. I thought since the announcement of school upgrading was only made end of last year, they might not know the reduction of intake when they finalised the PVs.

I would be registering my boy to Henry Park and we live less than 1km to Henry Park. What’s the possibility in getting into the sch w/o balloting in Phase 2C? High? The intake for 2012 is 30 less than previous years.

I would say frankly that possibility of getting into sch w/o balloting is not high unless there is a drastic drop in application. Reason being if you look thru past years history, the only year with 1-2km ballot is last year. All other years have to ballot within 1km. Moreover, with a reduction of 30 less intake, this is not gonna help the situation.

As you can see, from 2006 - 2007, there were balloting at P2C for those <1km. In 2008 just nice P2C demand = supply for <1km. But 2009, there was balloting again for those < 1km, while in 2010 all those <1km got in and balloting was conducted for those bet. 1 - 2 km.

This yr with the reduction of 1 class, based on HP's track records, I think there's a high chance of balloting for <1km. BUT anything can happen, so it's best to monitor the situation and have a backup in case you do not wish the risk of balloting.

why worry so much? unless the possibility of balloting is going to affect your decision of whether to ballot anot, if not, don't overstress yourself. even if with balloting, you still get to ballot as you are within 1km.
3yrs back, i monitored registration status at BPPS cos past records showed balloting within 1-2km. I was so happy thinking that i would be able to ballot. then eventually found out reduction in 1 class and so balloting restricted to those within 1km. :heresmyfish:
unless you have better and safer alternatives, go for HPPS! but regardless, always have a backup plan and move on from there.

actually i was really ignorant back then! i did not even know that that school was very popular. then read (here!) have ballot, then panic. then read, wah..ballot 1-2km the previous yr, i was hoping could go register on the third day. but on that morning, called the admin and they told me balloting for within 1km. in anycase, my backup school will have vacancies in Phase2Csupp, so i was hoping to have the chance to try my luck.
so those within 1km, don't stress! must have backup though.

If I register and got a place during phase 2A2 but decide to register for another school at phase 2C, I understand I need to cancel the previous registration. May I know how to go about doing the cancellation? Can we do it online? Or call the school to cancel?

And when should I do the cancellation? The day before start of phase 2C? Or just before I submit phase 2C registration?
