Yep, which happen only recently.. Still v :heartbroken: abt it actually... but good ting is.. Elder sis also deem it is unnecessary n she is overboard.. :sad:

Truthfully, she agreed to look after DS coz first grandson mah, and I got no experience.. Den DD1 came along 1.5yrs after DS was born.. n she did hinted tat she's tired n din wan to take care anymore.. so we tot ok.. if she doesn't we'll hire a maid to assist her, n she was ok wif the option.. tat time we din stay so near to each other, tatz y every EARLY morning, we have to bring all of them over to mum plc etc..

N when i announced I had DD2, i was v :scared: :nailbite: to announced actually, coz she n MIL doesn't seem to welcome the idea of me having another kid.. :sad: N mum insisted in no way she is gg to look after DD2 as well.. so i told her ok.. d most kids stay hm wif helper.. as being young parents we do not have or even earn enuff to haf my 2 DDs go childcare at tat time..

But somehow when DD2 was out, she still go over my plc quite frequently, though she nid to travel by but till the time we shifted near her.. She told elder sis she feel obligated to do it..

I told her it will b good if she can drop by once in a while, so tat at least we can catch maid off guard shld she b up to anyting bad.. well.. tatz the case lor.. so she bear everything in her.. n let it ALL OUT a mth ago.. so as of now.. though i told her no nid.. she still come over..

My kids are all in primary sch now. Previously we had to pay about $400 for childcare (after subsidy) and $200 for the dinner at babysitter place. The baby we pay $600 to babysitter. Overall it is ex, but we prefer the arrangement as my babysitter is very flexible and we really hated the maid issues we had when no adult at home.

Yes maid can create some issues , I have one now since she s onboard has been sick for 2-3 times I will check out childcare. Anyone can advise if i let my mum take care of 3 kids with maid how much allowance I should give her ? she cook for us too , my Dd1 goes to 3 hr class in the morning in school bus and she will pick her at her place, my plan is to either stay at my parents place or bring the babies and maid back fail and leave dd1 there. Not sure if things will work out once I start work

LeeTaiTai, did ur mum ever mention what amt she wish to get? sometime they may compare with what your cousins give to ur aunt etc. i’m not sure if my mum compares, but my cousins did check with me how much i give!


i give my mum $800 per mth, no maid given to her. i din reduced since i send DS to CC. currently my mum only help cooked dinner for our family on wkdays nite. DS go full day CC.

wow... $800 is alot and with CC , my mum did compare with her friends.. some were giving $1000 which I can't afford plus vacations lol
