      Just to share..

Neighbour school not necessary is a bad school... those elite school not necessary is top school.. *no offence*

A matter of fact.. SVPS.. was not a good neighbour school when dh was studied there.. in fact.. according to him... it was a 'Ah Beng' school.. :rotflmao:

It was only recent years, they have top scholars there.. that why it became popular and in other's opinion a 'good' school..

Who knows, maybe one of the days, your kids will be a scholar thus bring up the level of the school, and make it a popular and 'elite' school .. well.. combination effort from all isn't it.. 😄
      Hi Castle House ,

Yes, I will register at SV first and monitor NH.

I do not know SV have top scholars until you mentioned. I am not actually aiming for top school, but a not so bad school that can meet up to PSLE standard. Correct me if I am wrong, my personal opinion that the kids scored very well in the school test, but unable to meet the PSLE standard, is no meaning to me.

Honestly, I dun need my boy to be a scholar, just want him to enjoy and work hard in school.. and don’t lag behind.

Ya.. and they only 210 places this year also. 36% already gone for Phase1.. think balloting for P2C will be possible. that's why I dont want to try for qifa anymore

                  Hi..

Hm.. I think all school.. or all Teachers are preparing the students for their first 'BIG' paper test in their life.. 😄 regardless whether is a neighbour school or not..

My personal feel is as long all parties.. Teachers/students/parents are ready.. should be able to pass the PSLE... if a student can pass through the school papers, in my own opinion, should have no problem passing through the PSLE.

Hmmmm. I think yes and no. After reading so many threads, I get the impression that students are being constantly tested to find out where they stand in the whole cohort.

Once they have grouped the kids according to capabilities, they will prepare the kids base on the percieved capabilities. Meaning if the kid has the potential to do very well, then will expose the kid to questions that will enable him/her to go over certain band. If the kid is only average, then will prepare the kid to handle questions to a certain level and not expose the child to the really hard questions. It's kinda sad because late bloomers will suffer and it result in unnecessary stress for students, parents and even teachers.
