      bee8250,

      you seem to have 2 inquiries;
      1) 'day dreaming' part seems to relate to http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=668&start=0;
      2) preschool math seems to relate to http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1748&start=0;

      do try to post separate topics at the related existing threads. 😉
      hi jedmum, thank you for the referring.

          Hi, juz to share a little bit...

          Hav found a website for basic maths skills - http://www.mathsisfun.com . There are thousands of variations of worksheets to be printed out. Suit for presch or kindergarden kids. FOC.

          I like it, coz it save me a lot fo time to set the maths qtns for 3 of my K1 kids. I can spend more time to teach them one by one to build their gd foundation in maths. And save $ too to buy the simple maths workbooks for them... 😉 This is an alternative worksheets website besides other maths games.

                  Hi buds!

                  Basically I teach them one by one. Coz their attention span are short, and they like to chat with each other. Make fun (noise!) too... Found that if I teach 3 together, usually only 1 wil pay attention to me. The other two were day dreaming on and off. (I always wondering how much time have them paid attention to their kindergarden teacher in sch... :roll: )

                  During maths time, when I teach #1, I wil let the other 2 do their favourite worksheets, like connect dot to dot, maze, matching numbers/words etc. So they won't disturb or make noise.

                  Then when I teach #2, the #1 wil proceed to do few pages of worksheets like simple addition, telling time etc. So as when I teach #3.

                  Still trying to think a better method to teach them. Coz teaching one by one is really spending a lot of time. Any suggestion?? 🙂

                      When teaching a group of children at one go, it is good to have enough/
                      sufficient materials for each. In Math, if you're doing concrete counting,
                      ensure that all three have similar manipulatives to work with, during the
                      session. Some children may not have the attention span to wait for their
                      turn to work on materials, hence they may not be able to remember what
                      was being carried out or like you said dunno how much has sinked in. 😉
