phtthp:
there is no easier route to enter RGSS. No affliation at all. In fact, it is a very tough, very competitive. Not easy to enter a top Secondary school in SG.

i think the parants already knew about this...

the point is at the end of 6yrs every child is taking the same paper, if the child is really good he/she can get into the top sec sch with the good results... if not they still have a safety net to fall back with the affliation... or maybe is really 不是猛龙不过江...... :salute:

as P6 is coming closer each year i know how much more comfortable i will be if dd is in a affliation sch.... at least not so stressful .....

actually my 1st choice was a affliation pri sch for my dd but found out that it was so hard to get after trying a few schools....
she was from which school, with affliation ?

        CHIJ

My guess - parent wants her to get into the \"top school\" - RGS, citing the reason that maybe can get easier route of the secondary school.

        Just my own thought.... 😉
No affliation at all for Pri and Sec....

ANY Chinese book that he is willing to try....

Got him the 'da mu zi' (big thumb) newspaper weekly. He seems to like reading them.

Currently reading Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets (found in a book fair in JB). Couldn't find other books of the series.

Yep, Chinese version. I think it was published in Taiwan, as the fonts were in Traditional Chinese. Trying to find the other books as DS has read the English set & makes it easier for him to co-relate with the story & chars in the Chinese version.

Also got him Wizard of Oz (Chinese version).
