Hi,

Does anyone know what sort of ‘International’ students normally go to TKPS? From English or non-English speaking countries? My son will qualify for Phase 3 only (non-Singaporean) - what are the places like for Phase 3 at TKPS nowadays?

We’ve just been granted PR status in Singapore and want to send our kids to a local school, and like the idea of a school which has an international mix and focus on a more rounded education (Academic as well as sports/arts).

TKPS seems to be the best school for that criteria, and we like the area (We’re now looking at a place to live, basing this one school we choose).

I understand TKPS isn’t quite as international as it once was in the past.Can any of the parents whose kids attend enlighten us as to the international mix, and what the educational balance is like?

@ snaw.My boy is attending TKPS . He is in Primary 2. I am quite happy with the school. My son’s teacher is quite good. She pays attentions to even to smallest of things and keeps me updated. My son is also quite happy in the school and doing quite well.


School has a good mix of international students and the culture is good.
As far as sports are concerned , they have quite a good mix of CCA’s. Can’t comment on that as till P2 there are no CCA’s.

I am quite happy with the school.

Need some advice here - any idea when is a good time to apply for Parent Volunteer ( sash is born 2006). Understand with PV, it will bring me to phase 2 b(1)? What are some of the pre-requisite to be on onborad the school advisory comittee?

If I not wrong all 2006 pv already close on jun 2011. Pls correct me if am in wrong

Yes, I think you are right. PV is closed already for those born in 2006. For some schools, PVs need to clock in 80 hrs, so you need to start PV 2 years before.Those which need 40-50 hrs need to start 1 yr before. From what I know, the PV batch for 2006 should have started by this July.


Are you looking at doing PV for TKPS? You can always check out the school website and call the school office to check. Some schools do not even have PV programs.

Hmm, selecting a school is so "taxing"! My boy will be in P1 next year and we are contemplating between Ngee Ann Primary and TKPS. Ngee Ann has an open house today, which is good. Too bad TKPS doesn’t have one. Hope someone can share with me the school environment and the staff. TKPS stands out for us as its within walking distance and I presume we will not have any problem getting a place in Phase 2C.

The PV for those born in 2006 already closed. But you may want to check TKPS if they do have a PV scheme at all. For al you know you may not have to 'slog'.

Hi all, i'll most likely register P1 for my son for this school in P2C (within 2km) this yr.

As my 1st choice is Kong Hwa n i m within 1km but since there is always balloting, may not want to take the risk.

Anyone registering this yr also?
