Ya balloting for P2B and P2C, think after P2A2, there will be more schools with such trend.ralf2:
Hi guys thanks for all your help and comments. I have decided to register my boy in cat high as an old boy, why is it highlighted in red in the above tables? Does it mean at phase 2a2 i have to ballot?? slight panic again... being parent damn stressful!!!! pls advise thank you
If you're registering your son under P2A2, you are safe. 'Red' means balloting required for those staying within 1km. -
Hi fellow parents,
I am wondering if any one of you have come across my situation.
I studied in ACS primary (coleman st) from primary 1 - 3 and was subjected to streaming in primary 3. My result weren’t good enough for me to continue in ACS primary and was then sent to another school.
In your opinion, am I still eligible to be considered as an old boy and register for category 2A1 ?
Your feedback is much appreciated.
Cheers. -

Also P2A(1) is for alumni and parent who are on the school advisory / management committee, so it could be also that parents don't wish to join the alumni and want to go for P2A2 instead. Usually need to pay fees to join as alumni. Since there's no balloting base on historic data for P2A, parents might not be motivated to join as alumi, relying on P2A2 instead.
hquek:
Wow, quite surprise to see the takeup rate for KH is much faster than Taonan. I usually thought Taonan is of a more popular choice and should see a faster pace in Phase 1 and 2A(1)
This is only 2A(1) - could be many ex-pupils etc don't have kids registering this year? it's a bit early to call. but if end up KH is more popular, my feel would be that parents are scared off by TN's registration history....and the consequence is that they aim for the 'easier' KH.
ya you are right. I think the real heat is ON for Phase 2A (2). I didnt realise they have a difference between parents who has studied there on 1 and 2. -

Can I ask, will there be a letter for MOE to inform us to register our kid? Or we just go to our choice of school with the required documents on the desired registration date?

MOE rule only that ex-pupils who studied in that school. I recall someone only studying in a school for 1 year - also can qualify under 2A. Just turn up with your report book.Hi fellow parents,

Hi Junemum72,
MOE will not send out letters informing parents when to register. There are big posters in mrt stations last year (this year I didn't see, or maybe they piak at different part of the station), and kids are distributed the brochures in their kindy. Just turn up to your desired school and register during the dates you are eligible.
Good luck!
