akbh, new teacher every term is not good for the class - the teacher need time to understand the strength & weakness and build rapport. Which level your kid was in ? and also which branch ? Thanks for sharing.

High abilities P2 in a P4 class, :yikes:

My kid is in P1/P2 class but their worksheets are P2/P3 materials. My observation is that TAS teaches based on kids’ abilities rather than go on their age. He’s been there since start of the year, so far his teacher has stayed the same.


On the compo memorisation bit, I actually agree with this approach for younger kids. My kid has been memorising passages and sentences all this time. Now when I ask him, he can produce some lines based on the scenario - eg hot day, rainy day, how to start the essay; after an enjoyable day out, how would you end it. These things came in quite useful when he had to submit to school a journal report on his holiday.

Sentences are quite standard - true. My hope and expectation is that after familiarising himself with how a compo can be written, he can then come up with better original sentences.

For now, he’s still young so I’m not going to expect he can fly. I will continue to monitor and see how he’s doing. For now, am happy where he is.

akbh, thanks for response. Did they explain to you why teachers kept changing ? Reason I ask is from the various feedback, one of their biggest strength is good teachers and I have waiting to see if this is sustainable. To give them benefit of the doubt, I would like to know if any reasonable explanation was given to you, the parent ie the paying customer. Thanks again.
