May I ask how old is ur girl?
HappyAvon:
Hi bigsnoopy, when she first started it was book no 20 something...before the June holiday she was doing book no.30 something....then on the last week of June, her teacher got her to do book no.69 n 70...so this week she just finished book no 71 & 72...The teacher did skip some levels for her...I think so far MPM is good....at least a lot of thinking required....concurrently my girl is with CMA too. She loves CMA so much that she nvr wanted to quit...
bigsnoopy:
@happyavon -which level may I ask? Some in the forum actually say mpm is not effective when u r in upper Pri and only good up till pri2.

No, one month only 8 books, so if you have 5 Mondays, u only go to 4 Mondays.HappyAvon:
Hi, my girl is attending MPM in Guillemard Village. The teacher is always kind enuff to SMS me once she had completed her work...For my girl, she started MPM in February this year.

What r e materials like for jelic and mpm?can bring hm since we pay for them right? Can someone comment or advise?

Well the centre my DD went to is very flexible. That’s what I like. Go holiday also can make up. As long as you finish 8 books in one month can lieow. Also can cramp 3 months work in two months.

If finished then y cun go onto next book?waste time by gg off earlier…

Mine is also very flexible. If sick and the person-in-charge knows that it's very troublesome for me to bring 3kids for make-up lessons, so she will let me DD1 finish 3 books for 2 wks. -

Yes mine also very flexible. My child completes 4 books within a week, as he attends 2 times per week. The child will complete half of the book and the rest of the pages to be done at home. It really depends on the teacher and also the child's ability and interest.
IMO, cramping too many books will tend to kill the joy of learning. Minimum 2 books per week is good enough. Stop only when the child likes it, so that they will yean to do better the next time or looking forward to the next lesson. Just like flashcard effects. -

For Jelic, the materials cannot be brought home. But there will be completed worksheets for parents to understand what the kids are doing during class.
In Jelic, my DS work with materials to help him with spatial awareness, sequence, values, reasoning, language, etc. The materials he work with are 3D, the worksheets are more for the parents' benefits.
For MPM, my DD1 will bring back workbooks to complete the 2nd half of it, this is to check how much DD1 understood and also serve as revision. The homework will be returned to the centre for marking purpose. We do not keep the workbooks, these are copyright materials.
I like the materials, so I let my DD1 attend MPM and DS attend Jelic.
