          Hi,

Anyone has feedback on TAS science programmes?
          Hi LLTan,

Their science programmes are good from my experience, my older one used to take science from them but when they moved to AMK, they stopped their P6 science classes but he was with them when he was in P5 and he did very well after joining. The concepts taught are clear and they use mnemonics in their notes to explain concepts clearly. At the same time, they do experiments from time to time and I liked they way teach the kids how to answer section B type of questions. My kid knew how to answer exactly using the right conceptual words kind that the teachers in school look for.

I heard from my friend that the science class is not good. They've changed the teacher and an undergrad is teaching her kids now. Most of the homework not being marked. She said the questions are from assessment books or top school papers but no answer sheet given too. Some questions are not being copied carefully so the students can't do them.

Which is better & more school-based? My girl is now in P1 class in Morris Allen but I saw the worksheets nothing much. Not like accessment bk based. Current Pri school using stellar teaching mtd so no school text bks.

Oh I know that the teacher changed but I heard from a friend whose dd is in their P5 that he is good. At first she also thought the questions were not marked but after checking, she realized that the teacher did not ask them to do the questions but would go through the following week but her dd went to do first. Her dd actually preferred him to the older teacher before as he adds more life to the class and also the science notes are very clear.

My nephew used to be at Morris Allen, my sister in law said it was good exposure for him but in mid primary level, she switched to a more academic based centre as they may not be so school based. For mindstretcher I am not too sure about them but I think they should be more school based.
