Comparing English Enrichment Programmes

purple05:
how abt the charges? I'm considering Creative Horizons, fees abit on the high side.. S$470/term
think most english enrichment are around that price range which is why I am still holding back unless necessary... -
i think TAS is $300+ per term…
checked out the teachers’ profile from Creative Horizons website, all teachers were U grads & ex-teachers. Mayb dats y they r more ex… -
I did check with TAS before but their timings aren’t suitable for me… so even if it is $300+, it doesn’t work for me…
creative horizons are more flexible, with at least 2 students, they would open a class… -
What is following the moe syllabus? Is it the assessment must be like the school style? mcq etc. I think it is too regid and boring for language. BC’s worksheets is fun learning, with colours and pictures that can attract the kid’s attention. They placed it in a way not the school’s style of questions but align with the moe, like, tenses, vocab, etc. Maybe some parents dont agree. Well, important is the basic and foundation must be strong so the child will be able to answer the questions in school. That is my point of view. Yes, BC class isnt that big. Max 18 for Primary.

TAS has limited time slot & class in the east, such i am considering Morris Allen. Any mum can pm me the child Index number for recommendation. So that i can get the registration fee waive and you will get 1 lesson free.

Hi LLTan,Hi,
Anyone has feedback on TAS science programmes?
Their science programmes are good from my experience, my older one used to take science from them but when they moved to AMK, they stopped their P6 science classes but he was with them when he was in P5 and he did very well after joining. The concepts taught are clear and they use mnemonics in their notes to explain concepts clearly. At the same time, they do experiments from time to time and I liked they way teach the kids how to answer section B type of questions. My kid knew how to answer exactly using the right conceptual words kind that the teachers in school look for. -

I heard from my friend that the science class is not good. They've changed the teacher and an undergrad is teaching her kids now. Most of the homework not being marked. She said the questions are from assessment books or top school papers but no answer sheet given too. Some questions are not being copied carefully so the students can't do them.
