so maybe we can gather all (existing + future RGPS parents) to start writing in to appeal to MOE, consider implementing RGPS to become affliated, with COP >= 250 !

then whether COP is 250 or 255, let MOE or the school decide. With an affliated COP around 250 or 255, should still be able to maintain one of the leading Top schools position. At least, we have an affliated Secondary school to hang onto.

after all, policies and rules are man made. Can be changed!
      e

the COP will depend on the overall T-score for that year and if this really come true i would say it will be less than 5 points below normal COP (ie. around 257 which is quite tough too) and it will be like NYPS affliated to NYGH but for girls only....

look at NYPS, it's a Mix/GEP/SAP/affliated to NYGH and no doubt the hottest pri sch in SG now....

As far as this arrangement is concerned, RGPS stands to gain, RGS stands to lose. So if I were RGS' Board, I would say a firm NO.

Why bother with taking in lower affiliated students if the rest of Singapore's top girls is clambering to get in? Moreover the two schools have not been affiliated in so long there's no shared identity anymore.

personally, i don't think this can be changed with a group of parents' signature or even the schools themselves..... it has to come from MOE..... someone high and senior enough to push for it.....

If you notice, current affliations are only for government aided schools or mission schools. There are no affliations between any government primary and secondary schools and RGPS and RGS are both government schools.

Although RGS and RGPS are not affiliated, it's quite hard to remember they are not...they share the same name 'Raffles Girls' after all.

It's possible to get into RGPS - either based on P2A, P2B or P2C. But to get into the secondary school, the girls will need to score 260. I feel that some top schools should hold their stand, no affiliation.

Planning the scenarios should we not be successful in our application.
If let's say i fail to get a place in MGS in phase 2b (we live within 1km), which other Bukit Timah school can I try for in phase 2c ? Can I apply to MGS again in phase 2c ? Or in the worse case, put my girl in Bukit Timah Primary and then waitlist in all the other schools in the area, is this possible ?
