i read that bust size does not affect milk supply at all. rather it is demand. so if baby's demand is high, naturally the body will produce more milk.

i'm also the small kind. :hi5: but so far enough for them. they were all very chubby babes, 6mth 9-10kg kind. but somehow, after introduction to solids, their absorption is not as good and with less bm they put on less weight.

so my kids all plateau at 6mths, for their weight gain. after that, from 6mth to 12mth, they'll on put on very little weight. 1yo still about 10kg+!

Everyone is now commenting how dd lost a lot of weight (she's 17mth now, and everyone's used to seeing her really chubby when she was younger).
And my ds1, at 8yo, is easily one of the thinnest in his class! argh... so seems like the only time they are chubby is when they were fully bf!

Nope. Not a silly question.

Bust size itself is not the key factor, What's critical is the amount of glandular tissue, i.e. the stuff that makes the milk. A big boob may have lots of fat but not as much glandular tissue as an A cupper. In cases where there is truly insufficient glandular tissue, the boobs usually lack fullness. Some may be extremely small, less an an A cup. Or they can also be big but look deflated.

Note that breasts develop during puberty, pregnancy and during breastfeeding, to prepare the factory for milk-making! Women who don't notice ANY breast changes during pregnancy may be at risk of low milk supply.

oh, that's interesting. didn't know about the breast changes during pregnancy being an indicator but it makes sense.

Actually on the contrary many friends who are small sized have oversupply of bm :dancing:
