Another question, i m moving to the place which is own by a relative, i m consider as a tenant there, does it effect anything in using the address to register my son P1? Thanks.
Did you sign any Tenancy Agreement with your relative? Will your relative be using the address for P1 registration this year? -
Hi qms, i did not sign any tenancy agreement with my relatives.
Izit necessary to have one if i m using the address to register?
No, their kids already grown up n they never use this address to register P1 in any year.
Thank you. -

what you are doing is technically illegal. You're moving to geyland next week and registering in 2 weeks. -
Hi Gill, it’s a bit harsh of u saying tat i intentionally doing something illegal just to get thru my son P1 registration.
Let me elaborate further on my situation, i sold my HDB at hougang early this year due to some urgent financial needs back in M’sia home.
As such i couldn’t afford to get another HDB immediately or mayb in a few years time, n my kind relatives offer me a place to stay in their terrace house at Geylang.
Anyway i have call up MOE to check on my situation, as long as i m physically staying at the address n i change the address on my NRIC, it’s fine for me to use the address to register for my son P1, nothing illegal, not even ‘technically’.
Thank you. -

Don't be oversensitive about Gill's remarks. In fact, there are alot of people who are trying to make use of friends and relatives' address illegally for P1 registration. This is no longer a surprise.
So long as you have a genuine reason and you know you are behaving with integrtiy, I believe that is good enough. -

if you are staying there with your family and your nric reflects this address, i see no reason why you cant use this address to register nor is there a need for tenancy agreement.
but if you are not staying there but using this address to register, then it is definitely a \"NO NO\". -
Hi, thanks to all who reply.
I had call MOE 3 time to confirm my eligibility to use the relative address.
As long as it’s a permanent residential address and we are physically staying there and our NRIC reflect that address, we can use it to register for P1.
Come back to my dilemma, Kong Hwa is a very good school but judging tat there is always balloting for 1km and I only have 1 chance, may not be wise to take the risk?
Geylang Methodist always ballot for 1-2km, and I am keen in this school bcos there is affiliated Sec school and JC.
But it’s a Christianity school while my family is not christian, do I need to concern abt this part?
Tanjong Katong never ballot for 1-2km, so it’s more or less guarantee seat if I choose this school.
After all this is a good school also right?
Would appreciate any advice, thanks in advance. -

Both (khs & gms) u will go through balloting and 1 chance. Personally feel that u stand better chance within 1km. If u are not the type to take risk, then try Tanjong Katong. Give it a try unless u find Tanjong Katong is a school that u do not want to miss it.Hi, thanks to all who reply.
