      Jennifer:

We can shame an adult with thick skinned but how will it affect the child whose parents appeared on STOMP? Must handle with care.
You have a more humane way of looking at things. On the other hand, I'm wondering wouldn't the child be already affected when he witnessed his parent verbally abusing a staff of the school for doing his job? Where is the respect?

Maybe the fiery, old lady that janet_lee mentioned at blk 5 is simply fedup with parents such as these ...

When the MRT starts operation, hopefully less parents will ferry their children. Else this traffic issue (whether at Toh Yi or the main road) will be hard to resolve.

Another way to resolve this prob in the near future would be to start sch later. Working parents would be unable to ferry their children and hence are forced to take the sch bus. :siam:

Or re-design the present wet mkt cum hawker centre and integrate it with a multi-storey carpark and put in a new road from Pei Wah Ave to Jln Jurong Kechil. No more pte cars entering the sch compound - all pupils align at the public car park to walk into the sch via side gate. The walkway is sheltered hence no reason for pte cars entering the sch compound when it rains. And implement by mins car charges at Toh Yi HDB carpark. Lastly instruct the pupils leaving the back gate via car ferry not to use Toh Yi carpark anymore.

          Hi Jennifer,
As a resident of Toh Yi, thank you for your suggestions. It's really frustrating not having a parking lot.
As for cars driving into Toh Yi estate, it would be GREAT to have Wilson parking once Beautyworld MRT is up...otherwise many will be parking at Toh Yi car parks and residents like myself will not have a parking lot :stompfeet: ...or else have season parking lots drawn up (7pm-7am).

There should be a uniformed policeman standing there...then we'll see if such rude parents can abuse a staff of the school. That fiery old lady will only end up in a fight with the parent and situation turns ugly.

I think the Wilson parking scheme can be done. Like Empress Place Mkt cum hawker centre.

A Bt Timah wet mkt operator told me there are plans to renovate the place becos of leaking pipes from the 2nd level stalls. If the renov takes place, it wld be at least a 3 mths job. Maybe the MP shld consider my suggestion πŸ˜‰ Does the MP Ms Sim has a facebook acct?

Thanks. Will do so.... just curious, how many of you sponsor every year? We are not very keen to have our names in the book but the \"marketing\" to the kids were very well done and they came back demanding for $300 so that we can have our name in GOLD!! ... thought we paid for the magazine beginning of the year liao, now still must pay more... :moneyflies:
DS goes by the softer approach. He took out the sponsorship form, then look at me with those big round eyes of his (internally, I already flagged danger sign, ding ding ding ding), then said, 'Dad you know it's very special to have your name printed in gold in the sch magazine. Very rare you know.' Hahaha.

But it's all done in good faith, of course. :imanangel:

                      Janet,
This morning when I go buy breakfast at the BT wet market, I purposely drove past blk 5. Whoa it's almost like a dead end; the nearest roundabout is at Blk 7. If you have one inconsiderate driver, the whole system breaks down. For me, I would rather park at Blk 9 and just make my way to the back gate. At least my car will escape the jam.

It's indeed a dead end there.
Supposing Wilson parking is implemented to drive into Toh Yi estate, many cars will want to drop off their kids FAST and get out EVEN faster to avoid paying (supposing there is a 10 min grace period).
I am against closing the backgate as it will inconvenience those staying nearby walking kids to school.
