I don't think so. If you're going to change your address, you don't need an SD. Based on what kiasu daddy wrote, I'm assuming he's making an SD to use his in law's addy, meaning that his in-laws are primary caregivers. If that's the case the 1-2km proximity applies.

if that is the case, you are absolutely right. (my interpretation of what he said :stupid: )

          hi,

yes, i am refering to SD, meaning the grand-parent with the care-giver. Assuming that the grandparent stay witinin 1-2km range, and i going for the PV…

so from my understanding from the replies above, i will be under phase 2B. I assuming Phase 2B would also be balloting, am i right to say that for balloting itself, there are priority for 1km and 1-2km ?

i’m extremely confuse about the phases and balloting system…keke

Yes, you will be in Phase 2B because you're a PV. Then, if there's more applicants than vacancies available, priority will go first to those staying within 1km followed by those staying within 1-2km. Meaning, all those staying within 1km will get in, followed by those staying 1-2km, finally by those staying >2km. If at any stage there's more demand than supply, balloting will take place at that stage. Hope this answers your question.

now, if 2B has balloting, and our friend 'kaisu_daddy's address by SD (care giver) is say, within 1km, he will be treated as 1 - 2 km category since that is not his but his care giver's address.

Hi there, I’m new here. just want to check. Does MOE issued the letter immediately upon making the SD at the MOE service center or we have to wait for a couple of days before they issue the letter to us?

                    Thanks…

I just learnt that SD is only applicable if the address if within 2km. And thus in the event of balloting, those with SD will be balloting with those within 1 - 2km distance.

                        Hi, pls advice :-

                        i) if use grandparent's adress which phase will it be ? my mum's addr is within 1km.
ii) wat if my mum sent&fetch & take care of 1 meal for my kid - does it consider as caregiver ? bec she's quite old(not to stress her so much) n thus tot can go nearby after-school care ...

I've checked MOE website ... the FAQ are very vague, i've extracted them :-

\"40.What is the balloting priority for children using statutory declaration for the purpose of registration?

If statutory declaration is used, children who are registered using the address of either the grandparent or the parent’s sibling and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km of the school of choice are balloted together with the other children residing between 1 km and 2 km.
                        \"
