Hi! I hv a 6yo DS too - in dilemma with school options and seeking your valuable advice...

My DS is a gifted child but has some social skill / behavioural challenges (strong independent thinking/reasoning) that will guarantee piss off \"no-question ask/intolerant\" teachers. We were told that he needed a compassionate school over a \"academically-competitive\" one and preferrably with smaller class size (~20 students to a teacher) to render him a positive emotional support. This is like reaching for the sky given our PS class size is 40! Do you know of any schools that are compassionate/patience and emphasize the holistic wellbeing of the children beyond the rat race of top rank/score? Doesn't academic performance come naturally if children are learning in an encouraging environment? BTW, we are in P2C and willing to move as long as he is in the right school... Thanks!!
      Welcome..

Sorry.. can't advise... :scratchhead: but I am sure there are experienced parents who can...

      Just wait awhile..

Yes, I find that the more enrichment progs I send my kids, the more \"homework\" I have too :rotflmao: So that helps to control me as well :rotflmao:

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: otherwise you'll pay & pay but get no results hor...

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: you mummies are stressing me.. :scared:
Not stressing you, it's a fact. How fast the kids can learn and retain depends on how much time the mummy can commit, no joke esp for music, abacus and some competitive CCAs...

            hi Gin,

compare ‘Li Fang Lan’ Maths workbook on model qns with Intensive Maths Drill workbook which you mention - which one is easier to start off with, for P1 qns on Modeling ?

No worries.. I did not send my kids to any enrichment class either... to me before P1.. they are to play and enjoy... no stress..

I will still try not to stress them even after P1 onwards... but will monitor their developments..

              btw.. welcome onboard..

              Thanks! Nice meeting you too!

I'm pretty sure that my 2005 boy can handle P1 & 2 quite well, but then, I can sense that the expectations of the schools on those born later, ie in 2005 compare with those in 2001 & 2002 like my older kids have gone higher. It's quite scary. :scared:

Agree.. the expectations and standard going up each year...

I wonder when come to my yr2009 bb.. what is going to happen.. :?:

which school are your kids in?
I pm you okie.

To ínterupt', you may want to check out EPH's Simon (Eio?) 's assessment book on model drawings. Remember that the questions are very easy and it's a good way to build foundation. Not sure if there's P1 books. My eldest did the P2 book I think.

Can't remember full name, but it has 'Model Drawings' in its title. The one my eldest did had an orange and white cover.
