Let's Talk About Pets ... Dogs, Hamsters, Rabbits etc

A bit of background on my case. I fell into ds's trap when he tricked me into agreeing to buy him a puppy if he does well in his studies. Then 2 days ago, out of the blue he told me that being a solitary puppy can get very lonely (maybe speaking from his personal experience, haha) so it's best to get a pair. :faint:


Amazing, dw also thinks that it's best to get a pair. She was sold on those devilishly deceiving cutie CKC looks too. A pair? how much is that going to cost me? The worst part is, taking care of them is going to make my current idyllic lifestyle busier. :nailbite:

Get 2. Dogs love company. It's really fun how they interact with each other and become the best of pals. My Chihuahua and Jack Russell used to play bollywood movie with each other... they would chase each other, then hide behind furniture and peeping out at each other, and then scamper at each other and end up taking each other's former peeping places.

The biggest problem with dogs is that they become part of your family and when they pass away after some 15 years, it is heart rending. I've yet to get over the passing of my chihuahua. Missed her cheery and excited face everytime I come home. And I can't get myself to get another dog because of the pain I still feel now.

Bollywood coconut tree dance. That must have been hilarious to watch. Did you get both doggies at the same time or did you get one first? How did you introduce one to the other? Were you concerned that the first dog wouldn't take well to the second?

I got the 2nd one about a year later. As the younger Jack Russell is a slightly bigger dog than my Chihuahua, and she has a really friendly disposition to other dogs and humans, she got along well with the older dog. But I would think twice if the 1st dog is much bigger than the 2nd dog.

Playing hide and seek? Exchanging hiding places and peeking at each other? Hahaha. You'll never know how funny that sounds to me. Guess that's why studies have shown that pet owners live longer.

Just found out that a CKC pup easily cost $2K each. Take 2 plus the arbitrary accessories will set me back a good $5K. :shock: That's a lot of money. Not sure if I want to adopt as I want to ...... you know .... like what Glenn Doman says ..... you got to start nurturing them when they are 3 mths old, otherwise you'll miss the window of opportunity ...blah blah blah. :evil:

Ok as long as ds hits the target, I guess 2 pups it shall be. At least they're therapeutic and I get to live longer with them around rite? So now is 万事俱备，只欠东风.

Get me a good end-year sch report son, and come burn a hole in my pocket. Yeah! :imcool:
