From what i know, Zhangde & Radin Mas - balloting for 1-2km, CHIJ balloting for >2km

Was at Radin Mas yesterday 4.30pm, the \"unofficial\" numbers are:
seats available for 1-2km 23, registered appliacants 64... (Ratio is almost 1:3)
Good luck to all during the balloting exercise!

*Please note that no gaurantee is given for the accuracy of this info.

Afraid of RM conducting balloting <1km, I kept calling yesterday, If balloting needed < 1km, I’ll transfer my registration to CHIJ kellock.

knowing the final result. I can really relax now.

To be a child of new century is not easy, the same as their parents.

Just got an e-mail from CHIJ Kellock. Only children within 1km and 1-2km are successful. No more vacancies for >2km. Sad to hear that.

Thanks for your update. Last i spoke to staff at Kellock ytd late afternoon, there was 1 or 2 vacancies for >2km, but the applicants was like more than a dozen... Guess those last seats were taken up last minute, at least it relieved those >2km from stress of going thru balloting for the slim chance...

              Hi All,

Kellock only have 97 vacancies for Phase 2C and as of yesterday closing, all 97 places were taken up by pupils living within 0-2km radius. Hence, applicants >2km were unsuccessful. Those who registered in Kellock and lived >2km have no hope to even go through balloting.

I am thankful (at least for now) that something triggered me to pull out and try backup option, in which I did. So I did not register with Kellock. I felt so sorry for parents who have registered and automatically unsuccessful. Parents were only told about the news around 4.30pm yesterday. Which means, they have not enough time to run to another school to register for at least balloting chances..

I am waiting for my balloting chances next Thursday. Pray hard and wish me luck! 🙂

I registered my girl to Raffles Girls' Primary School (RGPS).. Stiff competition but I have nothing to lose... I am not putting high hopes as I don't want to get too disappointed in the end. My girl like RGPS so much. If only she is lucky enough to get a place.. haha.. Else, alternately there is still another option to fall back to. My next option will be New Town Primary.

Please take it easy. It is not the end of the world. I wish you all the best of luck. It is not healthy to carry such a great burden with you, thinking too much about the balloting result. Relax... At the end of the day, there are still many schools out there with vacancies. Although they are not elite schools but they still produce educated kids. 🙂 In elite school, they too have poor students ( i mean academically) and in neighborhood schools also have top students. It is you and your child that is the main actor/actress. School is just the backdrop!

Lots of lucks to everyone who is going to go through BALLOTING!

Niecoco, I think you have the right choice to registed your girl to Raffles, as the balloting rate is much highter than RM and CHIJ, and it's better school than RM and CHIJ.

Hope your can have the lucks to get the position there!

                        Hi niecoco

Where about are you staying. Are the 2 schools that you have selected, Kellock & RGPS, outside the 2km mark. If so, what makes you decide Kellock over RGPS since your girl likes RGPS. Does it mean that RGPS has vacancies for >2km .

Wish you best of luck and success in your balloting
