[Hougang] Primary Schools

My girl will be attending P1 next year. Now, myself and my wife are still choosing between XinMin Pri and CHIJ (OLN). Really dun know how to choose…
I am old boy of XMPS (meaning I can register my girl in 2A2, next week and 100% get in). CHIJ is 500m away from our home (base on past years, no ballot at 2C for within 1KM). Can anybody advice which school is better in terms of PSLE, CCA etc -

Anyone had any idea is monfort junior a gd school?how come the take up rate is so low?getting my child into school this 2012 and registration is next month.Help
i went to the open house last weekend.. i was quite impressed with the school overall.
they asked the prefects to bring the parents around the school, introduce them to various facilities and talk to the parents.
at each station, the head of department and teacher will talk to the parents on the specifics and concerns the parents may have.
i also spoke to the staff about allied teachers (my boy is super hyper.. i suspect he has slight adhd).
yes.. they gave me a good impression.
my only issue is i stay over 2km from the school... not sure what my chance will be for 2C.
i'm not looking for a 'great' school academically, but one that is able to develop the kid overall, and tolerant to children's shortcomings.
some 'famous' schools are snobbish, which i rather not want, despite staying within 1km.
anyone else can also share their experience with the school? -
as at 5 July 2011, end of Phase 2A1 registration:-

Heard from friend that Xinmin might have to ballot for phase 2A2. She will only know on Thursday morning if required to ballot.

:yikes: :scratchhead:
Why would that happen? Xinmin only had to conduct balloting for P2C previously. Yes, not even P2B. So, is it likely the school will suddenly become sooooo popular?
I thought this type of scenario would only happen to CHS, NYPS, etc. But for Xinmin,......????????

Let's wait for the official results to be out before we start blaming the government. Everything is based on hearsay so far, right?
Chill.
