...my daughter is only 3 mths now. But I asking ahead of time...

 For a moment I thought you qualify for our super-kiasu mummy award 😄

Hope you get into Holy Innocents for your son this year... that way you can skip all the P1 registration hassle for your daughter!

Hahaha. Well, actually for my son, I even went to the school to see the VP in regards to Parents Volunteering when my son was 3 yrs old. Cos I didn't want to do things last minute...just wanted to find out the process of registering and what things are done. =P

If possible, might prefer to put my daughter in an IJ school.

          Hi,

I just checked the CHIJ (Bukit Timah) web site but could not find their PSLE results. Does anyone knows about what is the school’s recent PSLE results?

          Thank you.

                Hi.

Does anyone has kids studying in CHIJ Bukit Timah?
I will greatly appreciate it if anyone can further elaborate on the academics & the school teachers?

                Thanks!

                Cheers

                  Hi,

From what I heard. there is no CA1 and CA2 for P1 and 2. However, the gals have to take quite a number of alternative assessments. Thereafter, the scores would be taken into account for the report book…Alternative assessments take the form of topical tests, class projects, compositions etc

I would love to send my daughter to CHIJ (Toa Payoh) but it seems really difficult to get in even though we qualify for Phase 2B (beyond 2KM). My next alternative is CHIJ (Katong). I’m really in a fixed. I though Toa Payoh is the better one.

                      Dear Taymeister,

CHIJ (QLQP)'s PSLE results were not fantastic. I cannot remember but seems like only a few got 260-270+ for last year PSLE. They are certainly not like Nanhua where they have 40% of the students able to go into SAP schools.

However, please be prepared that they also loaded students with homework from P1 especially for Maths. Chinese is not too bad as they are never a school strong in Chinese.

They actually have SA1 and SA2 exams. Their CA1 and CA2 results are based on tropical tests and the work accessment in school.

No comments about the teachers because it is not fair to generalise the group of teachers there just based on my experience but I must say that it is a good environment especially for the little girls who just started school. At least, I had never heard of any fighting or major quarrelling in my gal's class, unlike my friend's kid who was being bullied by boys in a mixed school. Infact, I find that my gal has very caring classmates who took care of her needs during first half of the year due to her inferior complex problem.

My gal has some problem and maybe to think back if not caring nature of IJ school generally, she will not progress to where she is now. If you ask me, I will still give my thumbs up for the IJ schools. To me, I am not at all bother with the results of the school because parents can actually play a part to \"create\" the results of their child. If not, how can those neighbourhood schools produce students with fantastic PSLE results. Most important is a good learning and caring envirnoment for the child to develop herself.

Just my view only, please only take it as guide and not to make decision based on my view.
                      Thanks!
