@gksmummy... Same dilemma....
BT one thing I find unfair is that if phase 2B requires balloting, remainders will be allowed to register in phase 2C to \"compete\" with us who has no affiliations and cannot afford time to volunteer.... =(
HEllo Chooz! u stay in TPY too?
i really dunno what to do now... 2 years ago, my neighbor just need to walk in to ij tpy and got the seat!! now i'm really really really in a dilemma... and worse, ij this year decrease their intake! 30 seats make such a big difference lor!
what plans do you have? for me, its only
now

I couldn’t volunteer cos I was expecting my 2nd and full time mother. Then I have no affiliations with clans etc…
50% of the available vacancies in the sch I’m looking at now is allotted for Phase 2C already. Then those remainder volunteer parents who could not register in 2B will be registering in the same phase as my kiddo…
In a way, I don’t know if they will be balloted 1st or those within 1km, which I fall in… -
@gksmummy: hello… No, me in BISHAN!!!
I will be optimistic and go straight into phase 2C… And yes, like u, nothing I can do but to PRAY… -

Hi LKVM,
Why do you find it unfair??chooz:

I can't answer for chooz but will like to say that i find it a little unfair too because we are staying so near to the school and some of the alumni and ex students may no longer be staying near the sch... of cos, its gd to foster sch spirit and culture, but isn't convenience for the child when they are studying more impt than anything else?
It;s high time that certain ministry reviews this... not anyone's fault but just that its time for a clean up. -
gksmummy:
Why don't you monitor the situation at CHIJ TP during Phase 2C? If it looks like your odds are good for getting in, go and register on the last day. If there's balloting for those staying within 1km but still good odds, you might want to consider too. I think Marymount should still have space available after Phase 2C, at least that was how it was previously, not so sure now. You might want to check past stats on this.hi parents,
Can i check my situation? I live within 1 km of IJ TPY but seems like IJ will def hv ballot... my next choice is Marymount but also considering ST Marg.... in this case shld I:
a. Just \"dare dare\" go and register for IJ TPY and wait to be balloted?
b. Just go apply St Marg in 2C?
c. Just go Marymount and try transfer in P2 to IJ TPY?
My fear is that if I choose choice \"a\" then St Marg may turn out to be full by the time 2c results come out on 5th Aug....

I don't feel that it's unfair. Those who are eligible for 2B worked for it, i.e invested time as a PV or a clan member so it's only fair that they get 2nd bite of the cherry at 2C.I couldn't volunteer cos I was expecting my 2nd and full time mother. Then I have no affiliations with clans etc....

I didn't volunteer cos in 2010 cos I was preggy with my 3rd kid. I also work full time and don't have any help at home except 1 maid. I \"worked\" my brains in coming up with the strategy and then made my dh do the leg work for PV + clan :lol: -

For P2C, all will start from pt zero, no one has the advantage except for distance of <1km, 1-2km and >2kmI couldn't volunteer cos I was expecting my 2nd and full time mother. Then I have no affiliations with clans etc....

Which school are you targetting? AT and CH are tough to get in. I can sympathise cos I am also in the same boat. I stay within walking distance of AT but looking at how things are going, I will probaby give that up and register my dd in a school further away where she will need to take the school bus. We have the misfortune of living near the HOT schools. -
Yup, there is no guarantee for PVs even for popular schools…
All PVs have of cos contributed hardwork and precious time in order for their kid to have a chance into good school. And of cos, they have their stand.
But as parents of kids who fall in Phase 2C, understand our stand too…
Pls take no offence, everyone… I thought forums are for sharing thoughts and discussion… -
@gksmummy:
Me looking at AT. 2nd one is a girl, so taking her into consideration for this enrollment. Hubby fr boy sch, could hv put sonny in there. But didn’t cos apparently, standards for that school dropped significantly…
