may I add in my own encounter with the mothers of my son's pr school classmates who never fail to remind me: do you know how well educated my son/daughter is?

M1 (son in HCI): I only let my son mix with kids from RI and ACS. Kids from neighbourhood school will teach my son bad. :slapshead:

M2 (daughter in RGS): Your son got homework or not hah? My daughter has lots of homework and group projects. I thought neighbourhood schools no homework, only let the kids do in class then they are free, that's why their results are so bad :mad:

M3 (son in RI): Your son come back early or not? My son everyday after 6pm, so busy but I think good schools are like that lah. :rant:

All I can say is these mothers are probably not very well educated or didn't go to good schools and are hence living their lives vicariously through their children. They have such inferiority complexes that the only way they can feel good is if they talk big about themselves and put down others. I feel very sorry for these people.

I think so too. Initially I did feel angry about what they said to me but subsequently I realised that as long as my son enioys his school life and achieve the targets that he has set for himself every year, that's all it matters. So whenever they asked me the same question, I always told them that at the end of the day, what matters is the results that they have achieved and not which school they attend. And of course he has homework and group projects to complete just like any other secondary school, elite or not elite.
