Last year my girl used beads to make a butterfly for her teacher for teacher's day...
WOW! tamarind! How did she get the inspiration to make such a thing? Is there a kit or something?

can let me know where to buy? looks like good fun for the girls. -
I used to buy during lower primary years (no time and not creative!) Famous Amos…big cookie lollies and they have special Happy Teacher’s stickers on them. Teachers just need to eat them and not have to find a place for these gifts !

That is a good gift idea too! I once bought it for my son's classmates in his CC and majority of the children likes it too. -

I bought it at the Better Toy Store at Ngee Ann City. Above Kinokuniya book store
They sell lots of interesting arts and craft kits.

Is it expensive? -
nmhmum,
The box costs $12.90, should be enough to make 3 to 4 butterflies. There are also instructions to make a lizard

PS: Try not buying mugs coz I see many of my teachers flooded with these whenever parents give presents. Chocolates are common (one box or two for all to share. Sometimes parents will bring boxes of tarts and pies too which are good snack for them during lunch break. And...try to buy good tarts and pies coz if these are no good...will end up 50% in dustbin and they will gossip (\"Aiyo, so and so parent brought that so awful\"). I find those chicken pies/curry puff in Cold Storage (non Halal and so usually I will buy separately for Muslim and non-Muslim teachers) are cheap and good @ $1.10/pc. Quite yummy...)
Besides avoiding mugs, decorative stuff (unless handmade by child) and plushies (cushions included), please also avoid photo frames.
As for food, it's best to buy halal if it comes in a pack that can be shared. Otherwise, teachers will feel bad if they can't share with their Muslim colleagues. -
Very pai-seh to all teachers out there… I always forget about Teachers’ Day till it’s over and kiddo comes back with party packs. Thankfully this year, kiddo’s school principal gave out a letter to discourage all students from giving teachers gifts on Teachers’ Day. Hee… talk about 没良心
