Rulang’s hands are tight. The waitlist forms are offered and we are now on the official waitlist. We are also told that we will be given priority if vacancies arise. But we know what are those chances! It is good to volunteer in a school so that parents get to know the school better.

based on this yr registration exercise - looks like parents who thinking of offering PV work for school of choice in future need to stay < 1 km then got chance, esp. if the school is v hot & popular.

otherwise, very very sad to have offered so much precious time, energy & effort to do PV with high hopes, then last minute got turned away by a sudden disappointing school announcement, just bec stay > 2 km.

Well, it will be harder to be selected as PV for Rulang now. They have close to 300 PV applications for next year P1 registration and maybe only 10% or less will be successful. Wondering if the P was implying just now that we should be glad that we were given a chance to be a PV…LOL. The success rate for our batch of PV was 18% so 82% was rejected and denied a chance to be PV.

            LKVM,

agree with you! What’s the point of cutting down 1 class from a popular existing school, to open another new school to attract students go there ? The popular, existing school already has so many processes & teaching curriculum established, in place & proven to be working well, hence it’s so hot and popular.

whereas the new school has yet to prove itself with a new P coming onboard, with new school teachers to get with the new P, so many other new processes & lots of teaching curriculum to work out, to test, to prove over many years.

Rulang’s P said that the reduction of one class was to plan for single session and ultimately all the schools should have about 240-270 vacancies. But that begs a question why they did not reduce the no of PVs. The current no is the same as the year before. So far from people I talk to, many will be trying for Frontier.

Rulang is meeting PVs from 1-2 km tomorrow morning. Think will be the similar message.

Same for those parents in my DD2's K2 class that I spoke with - mostly are putting the chance in Frontier as it is a brand new school so will have more vacancies.....

it’s clear cut… tomorrow message is similar for those staying 1 to 2 km. They trying to pull students go Frontier new school. Who is the new P of Frontier - ex P or vice P from which school previously ? Let’s hope that he can bring in the dynamic vision, relevant skillset and good leadership skills that Frontier needs.

The heat is always on EVERY YEAR for primary school at Jurong West area whenever it comes to Phase 2B & Phase 2C registration.

Just my own opinion - please have at least back-up plans for whichever choice you are making...considering the distance traveling esp for P1 - the time spends on the road should be minimise.......

Good Luck to all and let's keep each other posted.... :rahrah: :rahrah:

                      Hi,

I see from the chart, it seem like Xingnan is getting more popular than West Grove!
Heard that West Grove has change their P or VP, not as good as before??
For experience mommy, do you think this year will have higher change to get into West Grove??

For my own opinion and analysis - Yes, there will definitely be balloting in West Grove...
