The teacher does not provide the answers, normally they would ask the children to read the questions first to get an idea of what to look out for. Then they would guide them as they read. They would teach them how to infer and how to be specific so that the answer is not all over the place. As the class progresses, I notice that now they also get the students to sometimes do the whole compre on their own to see if they can tackle the questions on their own. The questions set by them tend to be more inferential type, they take the passage from a good school paper but they 'up' and change the level of questions asked. Good teaching methodsHi parents,
Has anyone send their kids to the EL class at AMK branch? Any comments on the teaching method? Does the teacher provide answers for the comprehension questions or does the teacher teach skills to the kids?
Apprepciate your help.

Hi Optimistforum,optimistforum:
Hello TAS
I have not spoken to you for a while; I hope you are well.
Can you help on the following subject/verb agreement question, please?
Pick out the subject in the following sentence: It was a neat little house.
I looked for the verb, and it is \"was\". I then tried to work out \"who\" or \"what\" before the verb. I think that you will say that the answer is \"house\", but I will plump for \"It\".
Please let me know you thoughts, on what is the verb and the subject?
Also, can you please what the object is, in that sentence?
Regards
O
Thanks for asking, we are well. Hope you are doing fine too overseas.
You are right, the object is the house and the subject of the sentence
is the 'it'.
The question you would ask is 'What was it?'
Hence the answer is 'It was a neat little house'.

Sorry but I'm bait lost. What does TAS stand for btw?
Thanks much :thankyou: -
TAS = the alternative story.
They provide free trial lesson and assessment for kids. Thereβs also a church outreach program - each term they focus on one particular area (eg grammar, compre etc). -
TAS also sells storybooks that come with phrases that are extracted from them. They sell their own materials as well such as a creative writing book, a gramar and synthesis book and I know they are coming up with a spelling booklet.
My kids have been with them for slightly more than half a year, they all like the classes and 2 of them have improved quite a fair bit. For PSLE classes, they have also extended their timings by 15 minutes-nearly half an hour at times at no additional charge to help get them ready for the exams which is extremely helpful. The youngest is still young so hard to see improvement yet but you can try out their free trial to see if it suits your child.
