No wonder one time I saw some 20-30 year olds shopping at Bibi and Baba buying and trying on school uniforms.

actually i wld prefer JC's uniform anytime compared to pri/sec's uniform.

          find them studious looking. πŸ†’

Depends on the one wearing it. still recall images of pinafores folded in such a way that the skirt becomes really short. A prefect comes along and suddenly....the skirt is long again.

Oh yes. I remember that πŸ˜‰ I still see the girls in the secondary school with the pleats folded so 'puffy' and skirt becomes so mini. My daughter is in P1. Her belt is sewn on the pinafore.

I thought ACJC and NJC had one of the coolest college uniform back then.

I thought HCJC's uniform was smart with their tight skirt. But not very practical because they can't sit cross legged on the field. πŸ˜„

actually can lah... it's an A-line skirt so can cover quite a bit still.

Because we're adopting uniforms from our colonial past? Why do we have pinafores for uniforms? They're so impractical in sunny Singapore.

Actually it's true that these days the boys no longer wear short shorts to school (i remembered those days when i saw my pri school classmates wearing tight & fitting shorts in P6 - cos last year of school, parents don't wanna invest in new set - quite obscene! )

These days i see some boys wearing bermudas-style school shorts (not baggy but straight-cut bermudas (knee-length)) - Saw some ACS & St Stephen's boys wearing it - I thought it looked kinda nice .. Beats super short shorts and long pants (think: weather) big time!

But back to the topic of best school uniform...
I like Cedar Girls' Uniform best πŸ™‚
And yes.. the prefects get to wear black shoes in Cedar.. I'm one of those guilty of not having to wash my shoes 365days hehehehe :rotflmao:

why school uniforms so expensive? One set about $18+.

No sponsor? How many sets do you get for primary school kids?

Actually Pr Sch uniform is not so expensive. Pre-school ones are more expensive, which normally cost around $25 (4 yrs ago)! For my DS in P3, he has 2 sets of Shirt+shorts and 2 sets of PE attire, which is sufficient to cover his weekly wear πŸ˜‚ .
