• RE: 2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take

      phtthp:

going forward, Yes forsee that - gradually, the more popular, very hot individual schools may abolish PV, let GRL take over. Is the decision of individual school whether they want to keep or abolish PV route.
I cannot imagine PV to be abolished and the impact will be a great influx of GRL. Then GRC like bukit timah, Moulmein will have oversupply of GRL.

This is a chicken and egg problem which cannot be easy resolved.

Hi, i'm a newbie to PV. I'm considering to apply for PV at Nan Hua (staying<1km) or Henry Park (staying1-2km) next year since DD will be turning 4years old then.

Can i find out whether only one parent can do PV or can both parents do PV jointly to clock up the 40 hrs?

      Many thanks!

Some schools allow both parents to clock the hours but some just allow one.

I suggest applying to BOTH schools as you might not get selected as a PV even tho you want to volunteer.

If you can spare the time, I suggest you do PV for both schools and monitor the situation on registration day. Always work better if you have more options.

If you have the time, there is no harm to do more PV. that's y we are here... kiasu parents
37 is taken in P2b for 40 available seats. How many within 1km & over within P2B?

This year 2B no. has increased quite alot compared to last yr where there are only 29.

I predict that going forward.. 2B will probably involved balloting, even within 1km, especially with so many new condos on the way. Also 1-2 enbloc coming up.

      gd luck to all

I asked the school when I was there for 2C registration. The admin staff told me quite a number of 2B applicants stay within 1km although she didn't say the exact no. If history is a good gauge, there tend to be about 50+ to 60 applicants staying within 1km (I think there is an error in 2010 data, all 66 applicants should be within 1km).

      http://www.scgs.edu.sg/content/view/25/156/

So I presume quite a number staying within 1km must have applied under 2B this year given the relatively low application of 43 under 2C.
Historically, 2B is usually not 100% taken up as SCGS do not accept alot of PV. In fact, grassroots are more common.

Yes, I do think that there are alot of applicants are within 1km. Well, check the no. of new condos that are opp. the school :scared:

Looking at the number of applicants about 164 applicants (Canberra + Endeavour) need to go into 2C supplementary (11/12 Aug). Wellington only have 104 places so if all rush to wellington, ballot again. Yes, Wellington have before and after school care. It can take up to 40 students.

Can we go after sch care of Wellington if we are not from the school?

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, no outsider. All primary school in-house student care only reserved for their own students. Sembawang has a few student care you can go

iii) Evangel (Blk 503B Canberra Link) Tel:68535813
iv) SFSC (Blk 326 Sembawang Cresvent) Tel:67542890
