Yes, my daughter likes her a lot...actually she likes all her teachers.
Hi Janet,janet_lee88:
Hi Berry,
My daughter goes to Violet for her CL class. The teacher in charge told me there are 15 in the class and most of the girls are from non-speaking CL families. I'm very relieved she will be benefitting from a small class.
She is a good and nice teacher. :dancing: I believe your dd will like her. Btw any chinese supplementary class for your dd? Thanks.
Daughter recommended to attend remedial every Thur since last term.
I'm all for it bcos she is learning with her friends. -
Hi Berry
My girl also has suppl class starting this tomorrow. My girl told me its offered to everyone and we can also opt out. Wow, the school is very \"on the ball\" , P1 only....My boy's school does not even has any supplementary for any boys in P1 & 2.Anyway, its really good to know that they put in the extra effort to help the girls. :thankyou: -

I was expecting some kind of honeymoon at P1...unfortunately it is not.
The principal and teachers are so warm unlike my boy's school. -

I am non-Catholic/Christian.
Wouldn't say the school will 'brainwash' the girls, but it's a Catholic school and they do have prayers. However, for non-Catholics the girls will have Ethics class instead. This is a change from before when all girls (Catholic or not) will have to attend Mass then. Don't worry. -
Hi janet… tks for ur assurance. Wat do the girls do in ethic class then? Do u roughly noe hw many percent of the girls ther r non catholics or christian?

I'm not sure about the religion %...my daughter's class comprises of girls who are from P2A2 and 2B. During ethics class, they are taught moral education...honestly I've never asked her in detail before. She loves the school
and this assures me that we have made the right decision.

I believe at least a third of the girls are Catholic and another sizeable portion of them are from other Christian denominations. The total Christian population is probably more than half. The rest have no religion or belong to other religions, eg about 5 each year are Muslims.
Your child will probably have at least one Catholic or other Christian friend. She will have exposure to Catholic practices (eg simple prayers) and beliefs through friends and common school gatherings. My take is that you will eventually have to discuss these issues with your daughter anyway, so might as well take the bull by the horns.
I am not sure what your own beliefs are but Catholic teachings are compatible with many traditional Asian values. Having some values instilled is better than none I think. -
Hi Mummies,
My daughter told me to get a costume for Racial Harmony Day.
Where can I do so ? Very suaku bcos I’ve never bought any before. -
most kids wear what they have at home like the chinese costume (qipao etc worn during cny), malay will be th baju …etc. some will come in korean, japanese, european costumes depending on what they have. sia costume also can because it is kinda nonya.
you can try beauty world, little india or geylang serai.
27 out of 30 kids in ds’s class (including ds) wore school uniform last friday (racial harmony day celebration). likewise for most kids in the school.
