Thank you thank you! :salute: Relieved to know that apparently my chance next year still looks reasonably ok (I stay 1-2km from RVPS)
Only the school itself would have the breakdown like 1Km, 1-2Km & more than 2Km. MOE website only indicate the total applicants in a particular phase.jimtay:
BTW, can someone please enlighten me on the breakdown of phase 2C at RVPS? Not year of the dragon cohort (2006) also have to ballot at 1-2km.
MOE website quotes 102 app fighting for 92 places. Anyone knows how many of these 102 stays <1km?
Think for RVPS is 37 (1Km), 59 in (1-2Km) therefore remaining 55 places would be fight by 59 parents.

Think you better have a backup plan, too. Nobody expected Radin Mas to have balloting within 1 km this year either, but look what is the situation now?
-
Yes agreed with QMS that situation had changed as this year RMPS (1Km Balloting), RVPS (1-2Km balloting),. ZhangDe (1-2Km balloting) remains the same.
It seem that Bukit Merah most parents targetting all except for Blangah Rise Primary.
Hi QMS,
RMPS is 65 places fight by 80 parents? Guessed at Phase 2C had additional 2 withdrawal that make the number to 65.Initially it was 63. -

it should be 55 places fight by 60 children, 58 parents as confirmed by sch that there is 1 triplet -
Hi Puffer,
thanks for all the input about RVPS. I am waiting anxiously for Aug 11 (Tues) for the balloting of P2C (1-2km)....
appreciate greatly if you can help enlighten me on the below:
- would you know of BASC around the school?
- which BASC do your kid's classmates (if any do go to BASC) go?
i understand the current principal is new.
- has anything changed (teacher's approach, school direction, etc)?
- how have things been since the change of the principal?
Thanks very much for enlightening! -

I'm terribly sorry I didn't get to read your message earlier. I didn't know why there's no 'Unread' sign for this thread. Ok, here's my reply:
- I remember I'd received some flyers/pamphlets about BASC nearby. I think it's around Killiney area. I'm sorry I couldn't remember what are the names of these BASC, but I can check it out and let you know soon. I think these people will be stationed outside the school gate to distribute flyers during the orientation?
- As far as I know, and from what I've seen (and from teachers, school guards, parents etc), the new P seems very friendly, nice and approachable. There isn't any change in terms of school directions and teachers' approach. But I do see a new zebra crossing within the school compound, newly designed PE shirts for students etc. There is a Meet the Principal session next next week I think and I hope to have a chat with the P then.
Regards -

From what I know the new Principal of RVPS was formely from St Hilda's as VP. Maybe RVPS can be transofrm into 80% SHPS in years to come. :celebrate: -
Hi titank,
St Hilda’s is a very good school isn’t it? The new P is very young - about 40. He came here last year as VP for a few months before taking over from the previous P who had been with the school for >10 years. BTW, what’s SHPS? -
Puffer:
BTW, what's SHPS?
St. Hilda's Primary School....

Oops! I was thinking along the line something like ‘Single Session…’. Thanks!
