Daddy

:salute: can do so long...deardear07:
... I was already in service for almost 7-8yrs. now almost 10yrs le...
This grassroot thingy really is ååäøč®Ø儽... everytime handle residents' complains... pls lor... I'm also a resident... but no rights to complain...
Then all the internal politics... sometimes worse than my office politics...
Next year dd in Pri 1... I want to find excuse to \"disappear\" liao... rather spend my time to teach dd... and more family time
Btw, your kids need to sleep how long ah?
My dd sleeps from 10.30pm - 7am... (cos' need to send wifey to work)... continue sleep in car (1/2 hr, but quite disruptive... PCF @ 8am)... still take afternoon naps (1hr)...
Next year Pri 1 afternoon session... sure doze off in class... else have to ask wifey to go work on her own liao.
Pri 1 got compulsory swimming classes? I just started my dd with this... at least she's enjoying it. The swim coach ask dd to jump, she jump... I ask her to jump, she said she scared. :faint:
Consolidate my posts in 1...
Ya,im surprised i can last so long.i guess i like helping out n seeing residents njoy events.but as compared to last time when i 1st joined as a near-adult,im really giving lesser focus there.im involved in 2committees n im slowly taking a step back from 1 of them.nw more into rc to help my direct neighbours.
My dd sleeps late coz ds always go n disturb her. 1 parent has to b in e rm to make sure they both r aslp b4 doing work in living rm.
On weekends,we slp in n wake up slightly later and both dd and ds dun take aftn naps unless they doze off themselves.but usually, they'd both just doze off by themselves in the car when itz in motion.
Dd will b having afternoon session next 2-3yrs so she has to get used to it.if i cun tune her internal clock manually, then i'd just have to let her do it herself when the time comes. She'd slowly adjust.
I duno abt swimming being compulsory but for kcp, admin told me no.optional cca.but ccas like band n dance clubs where they allow p1 to join, they dun encourage or 'allow' the kids to withdraw unless u got v gd reasons.im considering cca for dd in p1 but guess will just c her results n adaptability in the 1st half yr then decide.
But shez in childcare swimming nw so hope she can continue n dun lose that skill.may put her in swimming for continuity. -
bigsnoopy:
Ya,tatz y i hesitate.will let her decide but somewhere around p2-3,will let her join if interested.dd taking piano grading exams too so dun wana stress her too much with multiple instrument practice.
Join band need to practice a lot right? Where got time? :slapshead:deardear07:
abt CCA, like i mentioned, it is optional for lower Pr. your choice, or your dd choice.
most start at p3 or 4.
for my ds1, he has passion for this and he wanted to join it himself, so i let him. since he likes it, he doesn't complain he's tired or whatever. plus, P1 and 2 not much homework or stressful exams, so he can spend his time on such pursuits.
also, he doesn't have external enrichment or tuition, except 1x weekly piano, so he's actually very free and i do welcome the days he stay back in school for CCA, cos i get some time to spend with ds2 and get more chores done too. kekekeke
Ya,i actually wana build dd discipline in band and admin said can join frm p1...she is keen in music but guess will jus let her take interview then say. -

Daddy
You from grassroots ah, did we see you on TV during the last GE?
Yalor... just got back from my grassroot thingy... those ppl who say we don't deserve P2B... :spank: them ah...SAHM_TAN:
Daddy D finally have chance to post here
Aiya, we parents are just doing what we can for our kids, within our limits. Our actions are within the P1 registration framework. Argue here also no use. This is policy matters, talk to gvt. All phases are unfair one way or another. All we can do is to do our best. Frankly speaking our kids' future will not be affected by which primary school they attend. Life is bigger than primary school. Look at that guy who tried to escape from Tekong, I would like to know which primary school he's from......... :offtopic: -

deardear07, :udawoman:deardear07:
abit sad when i read those posts too...din even wana add my comments there.
those who r really into grassroots and helping out...r really not doing it for anything coz the work we do and events we plan and handle can easily command another few thousand $...
i din get any privilege nor did i know of any privileges accorded to me. the Phrase 2B thingy was made known to me when my daughter was around 3-4yrs old. by then, I was already in service for almost 7-8yrs. now almost 10yrs le...
sometimes my hubby ask me...y do so much work for no pay? but i find it rewarding to serve the masses. like my block was supposed to have upgrading but they missed out the shelter area. i gathered feedback from residents and told MP and relevant authorities when they came around for visits. without any grassroot intervention, that would not have been made known to respective ppl that residents were unhappy. that feedback made sure that after a few mths of some planning on their end, it was made possible.
I hope that you won't be discouraged by all those negative comments on \"deservedness\" of P2B. I really :salute: those parents who do PV or grassroots work. I had an ex-colleague who did not have time when she was working, so she quit her job to make time for PV so her kids can qualify under P2B.
deardear07, for your devoted service to the grassroots and your self-sacrificing spirit, :salute: and :thankyou:
Im fine.i get these all e time...even my hubby n mil question my reason n motive for joining.only my own mum knows me n encourages me.
I knw of many ppl who have done greater n more things than me.shud salut them instead.
I din even knw abt phrase2b till i had my own kids.by then,i was already in service for many yrs.even till nw when dd is due for registration for p1,i got my letter but din use it.im sending her to my ex sch instead.

mummy of 2:
Yeah, agreed.unintended bonus. :hugs:Just to add on the priority for grassroots my DH also served for 7 years or so for DS to qualify under phase 2b. It was just an unintended bonus. Compared to those who served 40 hours PV he has put in way more time. I also feel a bit upset when I see how some people are so quick to write off their contributions so that they can justify more places/chances for themselves

Ps: I wish I can promote to gm1 soon but hor difficult cos I surf and post using iPhone, which isn't exactly the best device for this purpose. Though I read every post
