She knows she is not suppose to talk with the lors n lahs so that's fine. It is the sentences structure that is the worrying part. So I always need to correct her. Cos singaporean tends to do direct translation from mandarin to English. My mum always say you eat what har? :faint: :faint:
Even if u speak BBC English at home once the kids go to sch sure pick up singlish... More impt is make sure they know proper structure sentence, the 'loh' n 'lah' is inevitable. :evil:bigsnoopy:
Ok! time to be serious har... People at the other thread seriouly talking about p1 reg phase and all we keep talking about is bath and dinner. Still talk about sign pettition to MOE leh. So we better choose a more appropriate topic to talk.. I start first.
Do you speak Singlish at home?
I am very cautious in wat i say in front of DD so I try my best to speak BBC English lor.. But here can speak Singlish wat.. -

Mummies, you can eat dinner at home without bathing first? For me, when I reach home, one of the first things that I do is to bathe. Or else I feel as if I have brought dirt into my home. Now that I have covered the bathing topic, I can move on to other things :rotflmao:
For me.. I usually bath first upon reaching hm den dinner..

My Mandarin is also not perfect. We speak it very naturally, it was not a decision made to speak it.
Envy o u or.. My chinese rotton until dont know wat to say.. Haiz... :stupid:
I find that English is a very attractive language. We spoke Mandarin to DD1 for 5 yrs, but since she enter kindy, she prefer to speak English
DS too, since he entered kindy, he's been sprouting English, even when he did not speak much
