Hi Mummies/daddies,
I'm v new in this & seek ur assistance. My eldest is gg be in P1 in 2013 (Born in 2006). I intend to send her to NCP, & wud like to join d sch as a PV. When do I hv to register my application for PV or I'm a tad too late to PV? Thot of applying somehwhere this week for d PV. I'm also living >2km (Fernvale Rd) fm d sch
Not too sure if it's gg be worth it to PV cos I'm not within d 1-2km. Wud want to apply in d Phase 2B rather than the 2c. Thanks all
Btw for parents whose child/children are already studying in NCP, how would u rate the school personally/frm ur experience? Is it good? Thanks again. -
My kid is in NCPS and i do not have experience with other pri schools. But my rantings everyday with my colleagues seems to be the same, so in terms of teaching, i doubt there is alot of disparity. However, with NCPS being a SHHK school, and its strong financial backing, alumni and parent volunteer support. I can see more things that are done which is not part of the school curiculumn. In DDโs class, in her first term, everyone each have a ipod to play with. Suppose to learn to use for their excursion. Saturdays are burstling with activities offered by alumni. Schools work on 5 days work week, so without these alumni activities, most schools are quite quiet.
However, most importantly, the school is near to home with a "dedicated" student care. My kid knows almost everyone in her school, be it Pri 1 or 2. They are her ballet friends, student care mates, classmates or ex childcare centre mates. Everything just falls so nicely in place and she is happy.
Oh, i heard lots of feedback abt grumpy admin staff. The aunite is the typical, no smiling kind. But she is really helpful and nice. I have personally seen her in action. She is really helpful to the kids and what ever problem the kids have, auntie is there to help. -
My girl is in Pri 1, after these months in NCPS, these are what I observed:
- developed book reading habit through her daily silent reading routine, very eager to visit library/bookstores to get her favourite series.
- responsive with her tasksโฆ checking LMS, school bag packing, enrichment classes homeworks, book reviewing etc.
- enthusiastic with her role-rotation in class.
- does not drag going to school the night before. -

But seriously, no chance in 2B or 2C for >2km. -
