SAHM_Tan, Suzuki method is better or yamaha ? i heard abt suzuki for violin more

There's suzuki for piano too. The method can be used for other musical instruments as well. For suzuki, the emphasis is on cultivating the love for music first. The kids start at a younger age to learn the instrument and also how to read music. The method also includes creating the environment to learn music. Parental involvement is great for this technique. If the child is learning voilin, the parent must learn as well. So the parent will buy 2 voilins, one for the child and one for the parent. The method believes any child can learn music.

As for yamaha, my impression is very structured school to learn music. I think they start kids at formal learning of piano at an older age.

My kids are not with Yamaha or the Suzuki Method, so I cannot advise which is better. Since you are going for SM for your DS, you might identify with the Suzuki Method too. 😄

im enrolling for my DD (4 yo) but i will be going YAMAHA , they also need parent to sit in and feedback i gathered was that yamaha is not so structured/stressful to he kids, so they wont reject, it lets the child enjoy and environment and music then they will be serious abt it later years.. i just want her to have fun first .

                      Hi mummies,

How much time do you spend teaching your 07 kid each day? Especially for FTWM with more than one kiddo… Sometimes feel quite guilty that due to the short time after work, our patience level can really wear very thin and temper can really get very short especially if you are trying to teach them and they are not co-operative…Mine still can’t really sit still and do work by themselves, need me to sit with them, guide them and need their treats e.g. Yakult/Vitagen…and I need to go through with them one at a time….no wonder many parents rather spend $$$ and outsource to gain their sanity, rather than pulling their hair, vomiting blood at home and ending up in depression… :slapshead:
