Certs to be a kindergarten teacher?

Is it better to do a full time course or part time course to be a kindergarten teacher?


What is the course fee to do a full time course and duration for a full time course? Any subsidy can claim?

After taking the course how much can the teacher earn?

If the regulations hv not changed, I think the basic cert is Cert in Early Childhood Education. The program involves attending lessons (think part time is a few mths) plus a practicum to be carried out in a childcare centre. For someone is who presently not working in a childcare centre, it might be not easy to arrange for a practicum.

I took a part time course on Cert to Early Childhood Edn in 1999. Did not obtain the cert as I did not do the practicum. Most of the participants (working in childcare centres and mostly singles) were doing the course on a part time basis.

Go for the certificate in chidlcare , very enriching experience

especially if you have young children , but then some of the courses
is time consuming esp if you ahve young children and is
a FTWM.

I did a diploma in childcare when DS is 4 and really learn a lot
about child development but jugging time is a bit of
a challenge
Do the practicum in childcare centre and international school
too but have to take leave from work to do this internship.

Go for it if you have the interest and passion.
Recommend parents of young children to
do the course very enlightening.

Check if CPF/SDF can be use for these courses not sure.

I am thinking of do full time course, so my kid won't miss me, and got the time to fetch my kid home from cc...

The practicum formed part of the course. Did not do the practicum amounted to did not complete the course, so no cert in the end.

But what I am sharing was the regulation in 1999.

Think you shld call up the centre offering the course to find out exactly the present requirements. Just my 2cts worth.

Edit to add: The practicum is not the same as working in a cc fulltime /part time. It's a x hours of on site training for the course participant to practise what is covered in the course.

Thank you. Maybe can find a part time teacher job and do full time course? If do part time course definitely don't see own child much as toddlers sleep very early.
