[Choa Chu Kang] Primary Schools

baby2momma:
I met up with the principal Sam Wong some time ago. He is the only principal who presonally receive me when I visited the few schools in CCK area. He is a very nice person who run the school well. I have a good impression of their Open House too. The school is very well managed for its sports activities. They seems to focus their ECA effort on sports. Their team won a lot of regional and national level competitions.no honeybeel, u r not kiasu coz all parents
would want the best for their kids so they
would do all they can to put their kids to
school of choice. i support u for that.
i only know KPS (kranji pri) Pri 1 + 2
don't need to wear uniform. they r
dressed in PE attire.
Only worry is whether the principal will stay as his term seems to be up soon. Not sure what is the impact to the school after he leaves. As I thought the school was better under his charge.
<afternote> I spoke to a parent last nite and the person mentioned that the principal has changed lately. But the website still shows that it is Sam Wong. The good news is that the common consensus is that the new principal is better. -
honeybeel:
Thanks Honeybeel....at this point, you can still think of us...Thanks. Anna and baby2momma.
I realised I have not congratulate two of you.
And also the other parents who got the school of their choice. :celebrate:
That's good that they can dress in PE attire. More comfortable.
congratulating us.....you are really sweet & thoughtful &
your girl must be like you too...so don't worry - whichever
school your girl is going, she will excel in it. -
Congrats to all that won the ballot today! Sounds like most got in, which is a good thing.
honeybeel, you are a most courageous and positive-thinking mommy, and I’m sure you’ll find the most suitable school for your child very soon. -

Yes you are right and thanks for encouragement. -
Dear All, I saw this from “Balloting history” under “Cho Chu Kang”
"Those living within 1 km also don’t get a plc in DLS
I strongly disagree. I live just across the road (opp De La Salle) but surprisingly I don’t get a spot too. I believe that the graph given also not v accurate."
I can feel the frustration of the parent, but what’s to do? There is no guarantee to get in DLS even though staying within 1KM right? This was also the reason parents here were so stressful for the past few weeks. But for the parent who posted the above message, what you need to do is quickly search (or you already have) for another school and be careful when choosing it, do some homework and make sure you really got the chance to get in and no balloting is required for P2CS.
Yesterday I went to witness with my nanny & her husband. When my son’s name being called out, I was so happy & I shouted (not that loud lah) “yes”, then I quickly went to front to draw for the next lucky parent. Guess what, the parents sit behind me said: “what so big deal & shouted like that”. I felt a little bit dis-encourage when my nanny told me this (According to my nanny, the parent sound unfriendly also). Just like somebody pouring cold water to you. Anyway, I am not sure whether the parent who mentioned this was getting in or not, but I think for him/her “is not a big deal” either getting in or being out. -
Hi Needy, heehee....ya hor... yr child got into SV.....
too stressed these few weeks, so I forget oredi...
Yes, we will all share our child's future eduation here in
KP whether our kids are fm same school or not. so, do keep
in touch with us ya....maybe we will shift to the forum
'networking for parents' of individual schools soon....
Hi Anna, I guess the parent who wrote that quote was juz
venting his/her frustration as I can understand the feeling
if I was balloted out too.
We should now look forward to our child's school life..... :rahrah: -
did you all check DLS's website?
They hv posted all successful applicants names
on it.....juz to doubly check to make sure yr
kiddo's name is in....haha....kiasu syndrome again...
