      Hi everyone

I am with u in this p1 reg journey! Will join 2c next week!

Alng, I emphatise with your "plight", looking at the bright side. You are more "enriched" with how different schools operate…

Abt JPS, I have relatives who sent their kids there, so far so good I heard. Comparing it to Frontier, it is a quite established school in the west. then again, Frontier being new, has potential to emerge " leader"… How’s your chance in Frontier? If you are within 1km (optimistically will go in) then it worth the risk of releasing your place at JPS. Just my 2 cents.

Rulang and Nanhua’s statistics were never this bad in previous years. Nanhua ballot at > 2km last year with only 4 unsuccessful. Nanhua did not ballot at phase 2B the year b4. Rulang ballot at > 2 km for the last 2 years with 6 unsuccessful for last year and only 2 unsuccessful for the year b4. Based on past statistics, those who > 2km have high chances to enter but things change this year. This year will serve as a lesson for schools and parents. Schools will only accept less PV and PV at 1km only and parents will move nearer the hot schools. This is good news to those who stay near the hot schools :-).

          spikey:
When faced with a limited supply and overwhelming demand, no solution is going to satisfy everybody. I do not support overhauling the current system. Maybe a bit more tweaking should be done. I find it disconcerting that there appears to be a number of 'whiners' who berate the govt for lack of citizenship priority, having a screwed up scheme which skews towards alumni etc...i.e. anything that is not in their favour.

On the other hand, there are parents (and their parents) who have prepared for this even before their kids were born. They accept the system as it is, move house, become PV, grassroots leaders etc.

Do your homework, prepare and don't begrudge others who have that advantage over u. The ultimate responsibility for choosing where your child goes rests with the parents...not the govt, not the school, not your parents etc. Your best efforts to ensure that your child goes to the very best school that you are able to chiong for ensures that your child doesn't have to undergo the same pressures when they grow up...unless of course, they change the registration system.

            alng,

so sorry to hear this... :hugs:

Jurong Pri is near you? It is a good school too.

Jurong PS is outside 2 km as I am at Jurong West. To be honest, I know nothing about Jurong PS. Are your kids there? Please share the strengths and weaknesses of Jurong PS. Thanks very much!

sorry my kid not in JPS but I have heard good feedback about this school... and from the statistic in Kiasuparent JPS seems to be the most popular for Jurong East. Your kid will be in good hands :hugs:

I feel that it's really irresponsible for schools to accept PVs if there is a need to ballot even for <1km. What does it show? To show that the sch is very popular so the principal KPI and bonus will increase?

To me,that is so crappy, and it reflect badly on the principal's leadership.

They could just get more existing students' parents to chip in more help if they need so. Why exploit innocent parties who dun even get the chance to enroll in the sch??

Yes, agree totally with smurf. Irresponsible, reflects badly on leadership of P. wasting everybody’s time!

                  Dear Parents...

I need help... Anyone has history of how many ppl staying within 1km applying for Henry Park under Phase 2C for the past few years? I tried calling the school and the person told me she couldn't remembered. 😞

Read somewhere in the these forums that one p just wanna accept PV to make his/her school popular looking. :slapshead:
