Result from Nan Hua web :

      < 1 km - 23
      1-2 km - 9
      > 2 km - 6
      total - 38

Don’t understand why did the 6 more than 2km still registered when they don’t stand a chance at all?

The breakdown is different from the morning numbers. 38 is the same. But now < 1 km has added 1 more and > 2 km has deducted 1. Is this a correction of the earlier figure? Or is this someone from > 2 km withdrew and someone < 1 km added? Think it is more like the latter.

NH is not like other school, they tend not to discourage

but "might have people withdrawing at the end of the day,
so you might still stand a chance" kind of saying.
I feel that such remark is not so helpful to parents who
stay beyond >2km and which they do not stress on that.
Funny thing is why they treat the process, eg. the balloting,
hmm… at least to me, as though secretive de.
I asked them how do they conduct and select applicants into
the balloting system? The staff appeared as though cannot
            revealed to me.

I thought the school should have such info made
            available to all?

The staff couldn't reveal, or she didn't have the information? 🤷

Yes, some schools are secretive about such information. Don't know why.

So, I presume you stayed put at SV?

Her expression showed cannot revealed leh.. unless I was wrong.
My HB also have the same impression as me.
I think school should try to explain the system to parents who might think hopeful
                especially to those >2km.

My hb was not convinced with my interpretation which was why
he approached the staff personally but could not get much info.
To many parents, we were looking at the registered number vs the available slots.
Many like my HB do not know clearly what sort of privilege for parents staying
                within 1km,1-2km and >2km.
I feel that they should not give false hope lo..

I stayed put at SV, I cant possibly place my bet with the other 7 applicants above >2km and wait for the
“might have people withdrawing at the end of the day,
so you might still stand a chance” …..RIGHT?

Yest afternoon I kpo n called up the Sch. Before I asked for more the lady started telling me no of applicants n how many within the distant. When I asked that those that more than 2km no chance at all, she said she can’t comment.

I understand some Sch will b v straight forward n tell those more than 2km not to waste their time which I thought it’s better. Agreed that not many are aware of the distant privilege

                      Hi,

Anyone trying for 2c? We don’t have a chance at nan hua due to distance. Clementi Pri seems to be the next popular school after nan hua, but still requires balloting for 1-2km. Anyone trying for other nearby schools? Trying to find out which other schools are good

You can consider Pei Tong or Bukit Timah Primary School. BTPS was my back-up plan if I didn't get into my first choice school.

                        They have some interesting CCAs.

I don't know about you but when I look at ALL the schools around this area which still have vacancies after P2C, I arrived that BTPS is a decent choice.

You can check out the respective school's thread to get a feel of how they are like.

Later today (Saturday) BTPS is having a fun day carnival OPEN HOUSE type thing. You might want to check it out.
