      Hi buds,

Thank you for sharing. Last night I was sharing with my K1 DS and he was reading and then WOW!

DS only had 2 entries and then stopped since then... I was trying to encourage him to write more often. And he said he dunno how to write even though I told him its ok, mummy and daddy will help.
The thing is he likes to write long long sentence, without commas, fullstop..alot of and then, and then so it become a very long entry.... and with all the difficult words that he doesnt know how to spell, all the fustration kicks in etc... so he becomes unhappy and stop...

I didnt force, so I just let him be and try to think of ways to \"restart\" his engine again.
All my best to you too, Mummy_Tang!

Hey! I saw that series of book too but censored it from my boys after reading a few pages, as it seems to come from a very pessimistic boy who is always bullied, plus he seems to dread school.

Didn't want to encourage the ideas on my boy.
How did u find that book?

Thanks. Hopefully it will inspire your boy too.
We don't write dairy everyday as he has other work to complete plus he likes to stall. So we do that like 2-3 days a week.

            Really? Just bought it…

            Then i should read more
into it too… so i can comment
on it. But i did chance upon a page
in one of the three books that he finally
stood up to the guys… The guys sorta didn’t
bully him but clapped for him. Mebbe from the
green one :- The Last Straw. However, the input
as in the content, i find quite good for a diary… Very
personal and really what the guy really went through.

I think the boy’s experience through our readings can
work reversely, ie. explain to DD how life can be turned
around in such a case. Bullying is a reality amongst children.
And wud be good to address it through a book too… since it is
portrayed as a child-like experience. I dunno, will look into it…
            Thanks, winth.

              thanks, buds!
Unfortunately, as a FTWP, I can't spend much time to motivate them. They need to be pushed & pushed.....very tiring 😛

No worries, ac23... Mine needed pushing when

they first started on it a couple years ago. 😉
The road was long..... but yet now very fulfilling. 😎

                  No prob!
If it's a good book, must comment ya, so that I could relook at it again.
The cover page doesn't look encouraging enough for me to read further, but it did catch my attention.

Yes, yes! I want to know too if it is age-appropriate for my 5 yo (and I also thought it isn’t). She was practically begging us to buy the book for her when we were at Times last week…

                        read extracts http://www.funbrain.com/journal/Journal.html?ThisMonth=8&ThisDay=13&ThisJournalDay=1&ThisPage=2.
personally, i don't find it appropriate for my boy.

you can find a similar local version in the form of http://www.amoslee.com.sg/. i find it plain copycat - the concept that is.
