Hi,Hi,
I live near Jurong Point and my daughter is in P1 (west groove primary). Any body can advise a good Maths enrichment center near Jurong west area.
:thankyou:
You may consider Little Professor at Blk 504...my dd there since Jan this year...class size small 2-3, so better concentration.

My daughter is going to P1 next year. She is now in MPM and planning to withdraw her after this term because felt that the teacher is not good. Can anyone advise Kumon and Andrew Er which is better choice? Understand that Kumon is focus more on repeating in doing the same thing and Andrew Er will be more on Problem solving. Thanks.

My dd is P3 and her maths standard is above avg but i feel she needs more coaching to tackle to really tough and tricky questions in higher primary. Iβm still coaching her this year but come next year (P4) i think i have outsource this role as the questions are getting tougher.
I read thru some of the post here. Need some advise from parents who have kids in these centres.
- The Learning Lab (but worry canβt get a suitable time slot)
- Maths Heuristics at GoldHill Center
- Maths Hub
Thanks. -

I happen to have students from Learning Lab. I have not truly looked at their curriculum but from what I heard, they focus on drilling problem sums and acceleration of school syllabus materials. And my students have no problem with problem sums.My dd is P3 and her maths standard is above avg but i feel she needs more coaching to tackle to really tough and tricky questions in higher primary. MathsHub offers 2 kinds of programs, 1 for normal school syllabus (heuristics & problem sums) and 1 for math competition training. The latter will expose students to challenging and non-routine (and interesting) questions. -

Kumon is more for training the basic mathematical skills like 4 operations, procedural skills like fractions manipulation etc. If I am not wrong kumon will not focus on non-routine problems or problem solving. No idea about Andrew Er. -
I gathered from reading the earlier posts that branded centers (those expensive ones) accelerated their pace. Actually there's a more cost effective way of accelerating - just enrol your child in a higher level class in any no brand center, then no need to pay so much for branded ones? Can 'self-accelerate' as long as child is ready
My dd is attending Maths tuition at a nearby no brand center, enrol her 2 levels up. Students are generally weaker in that class, most scoring around band 2 or 3. But since it's 2 levels up for my dd, she's enjoying herself in that class. Meet my purpose - convenient location, fees are much much cheaper than branded centers and she gets to do more challenging stuff
