that sounds like NJC DSA under dance (for JC 1)OK Just Update on ALL the Kids who wish to DSA thru Chinese Dance to NYGH on the Audition ....
They Allow the Gals to Do a 10 min Warm Up, Then
1) Call up by Names to line up - up to 11 gals per Group,
2) Ask About the Standard, Grades the Gals Currently R in,
3) Requested the Gals to Perform a Series of Splits, Stretches, Bridge, etc to test them on Flexibilities
4) Then a Senior will lead the Gals in a New Dance Sequence, (with demonstration twice), and then the Gals R asked to Repeat the Dance Sequence themselves - to test them on How fast n Accurate they Catch and Follow
5) Finally it's an Individual Audition, which is a ONE-Minute Self Selected Dance Piece
ALL the Gals Were then Advised by the Dance Coach to study Hard for their PSLE, regardless of successful CO or Not ....
The Head Coach later spoke to the Parents ....
Apparently the FINAL Decision of CO Being Offered Does Not Rests on her ....
Quoted Examples from Last DSA where 10 Gals were recommended, and the 2 Being Offered CO R in Fact not from the Top 8 ....
Coz The Final Decision relies on the Performance of the Gals in ....
1) Sch Results
2) GAT Tests
3) Interviews
I am Personally Very Glad that the Sch is Being So Upfront with the Criteria, Past Data Sharing by the Coach ....
Her Final Advice - Study Well and Obtain Good Grades in PSLE, and NYGH's Chinese Dance Team will Welcome Our Gals With Open Arms!

how come your DD interview in RI ?Hi, this is my first time posting but I have been reading kiasu for a long time. Thank you everyone for sharing so I thought I should give back. My dd was interviewed at RI yesterday. While I was waiting, I noticed that there was either a vice principal or prinicipal in every room, so I don't know if the students were grouped differently. My dd's questions were:
a) What world problem would you like to solve?
b) tell us about your project/portfolio
c) What difficulties you encountered as a leader?
d) Would you choose RI or HCI?
e) What is one personal strength?
I hope this helps. Good luck :lovesite: -

they have one Principal and 6 Deputy Principals (one vacant now, any one interested ?)

DS went for his RI interview yesterday, maybe the :nailbite: and the
in the Junior Block get to me, end up more tire than my DS. The format is as per those described in the earlier post, at least 3 sessions, 3:30pm, 4pm, 4:30pm (15 students per session). 3 students per interview room with 2 interviewers. DS mentioned it was more like a chit-chat session, so that help with his nervousness.
Some of the interview questions:
1. Description of project
2. Why RI
3. What other DSA apply and why the other schools
4. Strength and weakness of RI
5. Favourite subjects -
