Hi cantbearit,

I salute you for being so proactive with all your PV I regret that I was not persistent to apply for PV to my school of preference eventhough the schools said it's already closed.
I guess my biggest barrier of choosing the school is the distance from my house. I have to rely on my helper, so I'd prefer the school to be within walking distance from my house.
NV is not though, so I'm hoping I can make it at Compassvale/Rivervale at 2C. I should think it's still safe to apply at NV at 2CS isnt it?

IMHO if distance is a factor, i will definitely try my luck at e nearest sch (Compassvale / Rivervale) first. If did not get in during 2C, will juz try e nex sch of choice wif vacancy (NV or not). However i will still request to be on wait list 4 e sch of choice & trf out whenever there's a vacancy.

Hi, I also attended the open house yesterday. indeed the school has a very nice and vibrant environment which is great for the kids. I’m still a bit worried about the Reggio approach though… so I will keep this school in mind for my 2CS…

i will be sending my son to NVP. I have seen many cases where child is put thru so called elite primary school only to end up in very average sec school. I believe much depends on the child and family culture though school is an important mix in the equation. I will be playing a more active role in his primary school years so i am less worried.

I believe that education is beyond preparing for major exams like PSLE. Even passing all exams with flying colours doesn’t make a better person. I like the holistic approach which prepares the child for life beyond answering exam questions within limited timeframe. Judging from my sensing after P talk yesterday, I think it is a 50-50 proportion. Those who alrdy believe went to the session to reaffirm it. Those don’t believe still skeptical

are you a stay home mum? I wish I can play a more active role as well, however I find it very tough to do that since there is limited time to spend with my child since I’m working full time.
I’m still in dilemma and can’t decide what’s best for my child.

1) When do our children need to use the Netbook?
2) Do we have to purchase the Netbook from the school or we can purchase it on our own? If we already have one at home can we use it for school use?
3) Is it compulsory that our children have to go for the excursion or oversea trips that the school is organising?

I’m a FTWM but I know a colleague whose daughter is in NVPS P2. I’m hoping I can maintain worklife balance. I mean no matter which sch my children go to, I want to play an active role in their education.

were u at the school visit? According to Q&A & info gathered from my colleagues,
1) later half of P2
2) I think netbook is sync with school system. They have a computer lab where we saw technicians servicing some netbooks. Sch recommend students to buy but can use sch macintosh if really have financial difficulty
