most likely situation if there is no chance those residing >2km under Phase 2B, there is hardly any chance in Phase 2C as well as the priority are given to distance related applicants. Thanks a lot, QMS!!! Now everything is so much clearer!
So that means those residing >2km in Phase 2B won't even get a chance to ballot, right?
So if they are still keen, they would need to try their luck at Phase 2C which depends on distance again?
Are you applying for the 2012 intake or later on? -
Thanks, qms, for helping to answer Sakura’s questions! I only just saw the questions.

Most welcome! Juz sharing with u all what d RVPS office people told me. But all these are juz predictions. Hope everyone will still go into their school of choice!LittlePrinz:
For RVPS, those staying within 1 km sure safe. Those staying 1-2km will have d chance to go thru balloting but will be a tough fight. But at least is not like last year, 1-2km no chance to register at all at 2c.
Thanks Chocpockie for sharing your thoughts. I guess I better look into a 2nd choice.
U r rite, must prepare a Plan B to standby
All d best!!!!
Good luck to all!

That's right! P2B has a smaller group than P2C. Hence, if you don't have chance to participate in the balloting in P2B, don't have to dream of anything in P2C.most likely situation if there is no chance those residing >2km under Phase 2B, there is hardly any chance in Phase 2C as well as the priority are given to distance related applicants.

Can anyone guess whether ACSJ & SJIJ will be balloting in P2C within 1km this year since they were clear in history?
-
well, ACSJ has 64 and SJIJ has 50, so you have to look at it in a way if there are really 114 sons living within 1km of these school zones???
i predict balloting for 1-2km -
What cikgoo says makes sense, and these 2 schools are rather similar in terms of education standards so some parents in P2C might just switch between either school if they are non-Christians so that balloting wouldn’t occur. This is unlike P2B where parents are either only Catholics or Christians so they would have to stick with either ACS or SJIJ, but P2B is typically a smaller group than P2C which is only dependent on distance.

Hi Lexy, QMS,
Thanks for guidance!
Lexy, I won’t be applying at all unless I’ve a son. In fact I got 2 girls!
I was in this thread to learn abt how the numbers work, so decided to pick ACJS as my hubby’s an AC boy till JC. Now that I know how the numbers work, I can apply this knowledge to the school I’m aiming for my girls - PLMGS!
Just another question:
I happened to read from a thread (can’t remember bec been reading too much, haha!) that AC schs are affiliated to MGS. Can anyone enlighten me if I can get any priority in registering my DD1 for PLMGS since my hubby studied in ACJS? My pri sch closed down donkey years ago.
Thanks a lot! -

no, you dont have priority in plmgs because neither your dh nor yourself were from this primary school (plmgs).
you do can register in phase 2b if both of you are methodist.
