May I ask anybody watch chinese opera when visiting Beijing? I am planning a DIY trip (about a week) to Beijing around mid Oct.

can share whether u tried 北京烤鸭 ? how much will the 正宗 one cost? and where to take? is it available only at 前门饭店?

the 全聚德at 前门 is the original one

you would be able to see all the pictures of foreign countries' presidents eating the duck there

May I ask if you went to this restaurant by a cab?

Where is this restaurant near to? Any nearby subway station? I would be staying in a hotel near Pan Jia Yuen.

This is one or two blocks behind Oriental Plaza, (Grand Hyatt), side lane along Wang Fu Jin shopping street, can also eat 狗不理包子 from another shop in front of this Quan Ju De

Most tourist to Beijing will end up in Wang Fu Jin one way or another...and is near the Catholic Church too

if ok to stay up late, can consider dinner in one of the many restaurants along 鬼街. weather permitting, take a slow evening stroll after makan to 南锣鼓巷. There, you can rest your tired feet over a glass of cold something... and wonder what to do next.
