My nephew was given a chance to GEP when he was Pri 3 but my sister in law would prefer to let him continue with the same Pri school perhaps she dpesn't want his son to feel the stress.

In P1 1st semester, all pupils do normal Chinese, thru' various assessments and leading to SA1, students are then placed accordingly into Higher Ch, Enrichment classes etc. in 2nd semester. Higher Ch students who do not fare well in SA2 will be asked to do normal Chinese in the following year. Likewise, those doing normal Chinese who do well enough will be asked if they want to go to Higher Chinese class. This is the system in RVPS.

my boy was unsuccessful in RMPS phase 2c balloting. now, i have options to register either GESPS or blangah rise. i am living with in 1km from GESPS. GESPS still having 40 seats to fill. pls tell me balloting history of GESPS in phase 2c supplementary.

Many thanks for the infor on CHIJ Kellock.

I was always contemplating on whether to send my DD to the popular schools near my place or sending her to my alma mater - CHIJ.

I was told by one of the interviewers during my PV interview with one of the popular/top school recently that Kellock offers a good study environment & gym and why am i not sending my gal there ? I told them its because of the proximity to the sch & all the blah blah :lol: And of course, i wasn't successful in my interview :oops:

With what you hv mentioned and what i've observed fm my DD, CHIJ kellock will be a suitable school for her. I look forward to seeing her in my previous white & blue uniform , thanks.

Any idea about RVPS? I think they are more focus on higher Chinese? Am I correct?[/quote]RVPS seem to be more focus on chinese due to last time RV is a chinese school. Their chinese reasonably perform well in PSLE but was not able to match school like Maha Bodhi, Mee Toh etc.

A principal of RMPS had analysed to me the pros & cons for putting my child either in RVPS or RMPS since I'm able to enter in Phase 2B. Lastly my decision is RMPS due to proximity of distance.

If my house can be nearer to RVPS then it would be a different story. It seem RMPS is more popular than RVPS in the Bukit Merah/Central area.

Hi Summon,

Last year there was balloting where about 20+ applicants fight for 4 places in GESPS in the Phase 2C Supplementary. These are the ones staying at 1-2Km range.

Since you are 1 Km from GESPS, should not be any problem. By the way may I know where you are staying where can be 1Km from RMPS & GESPS?

i am staying in bukit merah view. i have tried in RMPS but was unsuccessful and ZDPS also full now. now i am very stress ful because if couldn’t get the seat in GESPS then i have to go for Blangah rise. my worry is how can my son will catch the van around 6 am to get into Blangah Rise school if he got the seat there.

Actually Bt Merah View is 1Km from RMPS, ZDPS, RVPS & GESPS? Anyway I believe you had your reason to ballot in RMPS.

Last year there was balloting in GESPS Phase 2C Supplementary where 20+ applicants fight for 5 places (1Km-2km). I believe you should be able to get in for staying at 1km. If really have to ballot at 1Km then you just have to face it.

Other than that, you may want to consider Queenstown PS or New Town PS which I believe they are 1-2Km from your place?
