All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

This year the school of our choice had to ballot during Ph2B less than 1km. Historically this was not so. I am just wondering what to do now. Give up PV or still take that chance that when our turn comes up next year won't be so hot...any views or similar experiences? :scratchhead:

We can apply under one category at one school,isn't it?So we want to apply under P2B , we can do PV for one school.Now u cannot start PV to another school,cos before july you had to started.So don't give up PV and continue and finish.Then only you can eligible to apply under P2B.

We can only apply one school at each Phase.

But if a person fails to enter the school XXX at Phase 2B possibly due to balloting/over-subscribed then there is still the Phase 2C. But again, only one school allowed for this Phase but it can be School XXX or another School YYY...

I am not sure about this.I think, we can apply for a school under one category only.[/quote]Applicants unsuccessful in phase 2B can apply for the same school again in phase 2C. they still have to monitor that they stand a good chance in phase 2c, if not, it is better to utilise that chance in another school that they may have a higher success rate.

I heard from kiasuparents someschools do interviews.You can flip this thread and find out.I think,you may call to ur prefer school directly and ask them.When is ur Kid go to P1?

I know some schools which mentioned in this thread have interview. My kid is going P1 in 2014.

I need to give this info to my frens as they dont believe me that there are schs which interviewing parents for PV, and they (daddies) laughed at me :mad:

So I just want to get the facts and slam into their faces.. haha :evil:

It's true. But only shortlisted applicants will be interviewed. And if your child is going P1 in 2014, you need to start your PV by June 2012 (that's next year). Most schools applications for PV will close end of this year for the 2014 cohort.

For schools that are popular and who control their PV intake, only about 20% or less of the parents who apply will eventually become PVs.
